Going to show my ignorance here, but... when you all talk about a block in the rear what are you meaning?  I get the front level but being someone who has never leveled (or lifted) a truck, I'm not sure what you're meaning when you say a xx" block in the rear.  And, yes, you can laugh at my ignorance if you want.

Look between your axle and leaf spring. There’s a black metal block sandwiched between your u bolts.

OK, so logic would tell me that increasing the size of the block increases the ground clearance of the rear.  I got it now.

Ground clearance won’t increase. The height of your truck frame will increase, but the axle and differential stays put. However you can fit larger tires and that will increase your ground clearance.

This is exactly what I want to do.  What is the size of the AT3's you went with?

Stock 265/65R18 tires on stock 18" wheels with 2" front level. Probably going to move up to a 275/65R18 in a more aggressive tire now that the front end has been raised.

Go ahead and go 285/65r18.   You will thank me if you do.

I installed a rough country 2.5 inch front and 2 inch rear blocks on my 2016 Z71.  I have stamped steel control arms and instructions said 3-4 hour install.  It took 3 people with vehicle on a lift 10 hours.  Biggest time consuming issue was getting the upper control arm to come loose on both sides.  In the end still worth it love how it looks and drives.  Running 275/65R20 tires (34 inch) on stock rims zero running rubbing.

275/60/20  they are 32.99" tire so 33s

You can go wider to 285s i believe. My fender liner rubs on right side but it can be zip tied back or trimmed. I just havent done it.

Not to hijack the thread but has anyone done a 2.5 level and tires with 22inch factory wheels?? I have yet to see any. I’ll be upgrading wheels with my leveling kit and I’m torn between black 20’s or the 22’s ??

I know your asking about a 2.5 level, but I did a 2.25 level on 22” stock wheels.  Pic is on page 4 of this thread.

From the factory these trucks have a 1.25" steel block that the rear springs  sit on so when someone says 3" rear block it usually means a net gain of 1.75"
