DC vs CC. What made your decision?

We went with the CC, due to needing interior space for the dogs / friends / family ect. We travel alot... so interior space is needed.

Short bed does not bother us... have a 5x10 trailer so anything big and heavy can go on it. Plus the short door on the DC just bothers me look wise...

Crew cab so that it can comfortably accommodate 4 adults. The short bed has been more than sufficient, and with the towing package, we can always use a trailer for bigger things.

Plus, I find the crew cab short bed is more aesthetically pleasing.

I know regular cabs aren't in the discussion but I'd thought I'll voice my opinion lol. I bought a regular cab because I'm 21, single and no kids so either a DC or CC would be to big for me. If I want to drive around with plenty of space I'll take my dad's CC for a drive.

I chose the CC this time around after going through 2 double cabs.  I went with the CC because I wanted the extra room (which now I realize why they are so popular.  the extra foot or whatever of space makes all the difference in leg room for passengers as well as cargo room.  Plus, the CCs were HEAVILY discounted and priced them at or below a DC so it made financial sense since the  CC has better resale value.  Dont think id go back to a DC again unless maybe if i bought a raptor or jeep truck that i wanted to heavily offroad.

DC. No kids so the back is a nice size for storage and hauling people around the odd time. The extra foot in the bed is handy

CC because our husky loves the room and kids will be in the future, If i need to haul something long I can just leave the tailgate down.

A lot of resale value shout-outs, yet I have never made out better trading in a vehicle than I did my last Dbl Cab. Paid 38k CAD for it new and traded it for 24k 5 years and 70,000miles later. That's a 37% loss in retail value over 5 years. Not bad at all if you ask me, it would cost that much to drive a junker around. Considering many vehicles lose 30% in the first year. I only hope I can trade my 2015 in two years for $36,000 but seeing as how they are already selling for that, it is not likely. Show some love to the smaller, but capably superior, Double Cabs!

I went CC, I really wanted to go RC but I needed to have interior room for storage. I typically have to transport electronics at least once a week and couldn't risk it being a rainy day and not being able to put everything in the bed of the truck. I figured I might as well get the CC over the DC since their is significantly more room in the interior of the CC. Plus, I think the CC looks better than the DC. I would have liked a standard bed, but I couldn't find any specced the way I wanted and didn't feel like waiting to order one. If I had it to do over again I'd probably buy a RC and install a nice tonneau cover (I'd probably regret that choice in a few years, but the RCSB just looks so good and they are really fun)

I wanted a High Country and you can't get it in any other cab configuration. Next truck I but won't be either Double cab or Crew cab, I'm going back to  Regular cab. Most likely a loaded Regular cab long box 2500HD, the High Country bells and whistles are nice, but I miss having a really pickup box.

CC because of three kids in car seats!

Most kids growing up prior to big 4 door trucks and SUVs would slide down in the seat if they passed their friends in a 4 door car. Most people drove big 2 door cars, hold the passenger side seat forward for the kids to pile in back. Four door anything wasn’t cool. I’m just as guilty.

Crew cab for sure with kids.  My dad got the double cab, and with the pillars there, it's a pain in the ass to get kids in the back seat.  My 07 classic extended cab was easier to get in because it had the suicide door without any pillars.  There's no room to get your shoulders in straight in a DC.

I had the suicide doors in a few truck. I prefer the full doors they have now.. Getting stuff in the back seat could get tough in tight spots because to had to open the front door to access the back.

Went from a DC (suicide doors) to a CC and kept the 6.5' bed on the new truck. Very happy with the decision. I live on a farm so I use the bad a lot and tow trailers frequently. Already have one kiddo and with another on the way and a dog I wanted the extra cab space. The truck is definitely longer but i'm getting used to it. Tow mirrors and the camera help a lot.
