DC vs CC. What made your decision?

I got the AMP bed extender so it’s not that bad with the shorter bed but yes that was one thing I was not happy about losing. But the added options out weighed the losses.

If it were 1972, I would have just gotten a regular cab longbed because:

(1)  They didn't have extended or crew cabs,

(2)  Regular cab trucks look the best, and

(3)  Kids have fun and, more importantly, *sound* great when they are in the back of a truck and you can't hear them.

But it's 2018, the wife and the gummint ain't having none of that, so I bought a crew cab.

Daughter is grown and gone now.  It's just the SO and I (most of the time), and I wanted the longer bed, so... DC for me.

Don’t have kids, crew cab is more $$ than double cab so
I got the double. When we do have kids I’ll prob just get the wife an suv but, quite frankly kids are so small when they’re young who needs the leg room and if you don’t spoil em with the big back
seat they won’t know what they’re missing lol.

I went crew when I got my '08 thinking I may take some road trips in it and I don't haul too much in the bed too often. I went crew again for the '16 due to having a little one to haul in the back seat and for the overall comfort.

Double cabs are worthless to resell in my area... they never move.  None the less I bought one anyway because I doubt I will buy another new GM truck again anyhow and have this one as a beater until it's dead.  Besides even if being a double cab hurts it I'm sure the 4.56 gears, locker in the rear, cam and long tubes will deter 99% of people anyhow lol.

Here in New England i see more CC's , but there are plenty of DC out there too. Equipment and mileage have a big effect on resale also.

Like all my truck, I plan(hope) to get 10 years out of it and run it into the ground! LOL! So resale is not too big a concern for me. Although much to my surprise, my 2008 Tacoma with 180k on it was worth $8k when i traded for my Silverado.

Double cab so that I could get a 6.5 ft bed without special ordering and saving $4k. More comfortable to sleep in when hunting and I like it better for happing lumber and stuff when we go camping. Will probably geta cc next time now that I have a kid.

Most kids growing up prior to big 4 door trucks and SUVs would slide down in the seat if they passed their friends in a 4 door car. Most people drove big 2 door cars, hold the passenger side seat forward for the kids to pile in back. Four door anything wasn’t cool. I’m just as guilty.

My last vehicle was a King Cab (same as DC) Titan. 11 years ago when I bought it, I was single and rathered have the extra bed space than extra room in the back. Fast forward 10 years later to last year, and I'm married with 2 kids in car seats and we looked like sardines in that king cab haha. Bought my Silverado in the Crew Cab variation and you can still pass through the back seat area even with the car seats in. It's all about the lifestyle change.

I went with the GMC CC because I will only use it like a truck once in a while and wanted the short box.
