You’re absolutely correct,

My 14 had flat tire rattle until I switched tires out.

My 16 DMax “never had a problem but only got rid of it cause no one wanted to go out in the fifth wheel anymore so yeah, over kill.

And my 2018 6.2, well let’s just say, I’m very very happy and plan on keeping it and purchasing another diesel when the new ones come out in 2022 emoji39.png

I’m interested in the I6 diesel. I love my 18 6.2 max tow but still in honeymoon phase at 3600 miles. I love the look of the Duramax hood scoop!! Hate the DEF tank location but spy photos show GM finally moved it out of view.

Here’s the proof of how cheaply built BakFlip is. White plastic locking tabs, square pieces together locking mechanism riveted into thin aluminum sheet. 50a90414349eee390841c9f96ef5bb6b.png

It’s about keeping out thieves not just weight it holds standing on it

I have the extang solid fold 2.0. It looks ok. I purchased due to forum members recommendation.

The good: easy to remove and install. No rails or hardware to fasten to your bed. It sits ontop of bed rails so you get maximum height for items under cover. Realitivley water resistant. Car wash and downpour most water stays out. I think some comes in due to stake bed pockets. Panels are insulated and thick and stay cool to touch on bottom side.

The bad: expensive at $850. When it rains I can see the impressions the pads left when I drove with it open. It could have been better designed to match bed rail shape. Handles and spring clasps are all plastic.

It stinks when you pay so much for something especially when you see good reviews. Best thing for everyone to do is go to a store that has them all and this way you’ll see for yourself. Too late now but next time check out the RollNLock and Retrax systems.

Here’s what a great shop should look like, Look at the product variety!

Fox Shocks are a bit stiffer and I’d advise the Bilstein before the Fox especially being your daily driver. The Bilstein 4600’s are for “NON” leveled/ lifted trucks and 5100’s are “FOR” Leveled/lifted trucks.

Cool....after waffling back and forth, I think I'm going to go with the 5100's, even though my truck's not lifted, because they're a few $$ more and look way better than the yellow & blue 4600's (if they both come in both variants, I didn't notice it)

Thanks all for the input!

Is your “I can’t believe how comfortable” Z71 stock or have you lifted, leveled?

You brought up about how comfortable your Z71 is because of the previous quotes on how crappy the Rancho Shocks were and needed replacing. Yours is stock, that’s why it’s smooth, for now but mine as well as others have had new custom offset wheels and leveling done which throws off the geometry of the suspension causing rougher ride. When mine was stock it rode like an old Buick Electra, very comfortable. GM used to use Bilstein for their 4x4’s but switched to cheap ass knockoff Rancho garbage obviously cutting cost.

I am rather fond of the newer GM truck products. I almost bought a FORD just to change it up this year but I could not get over the hideous Ford front end.

So when I do a 2" leveling kit I should buy new Bilstien 5100 shocks?

Required to, absolutely not. It’s completely up to your ride quality. My level with new heavier (stiffer) tires and different offset wheels required change to more performance oriented shocks but for a daily driver. You’ll know once your leveling is done and make sure to get an alignment when you do your front shocks.

Thanks for the help. Do you run a leveling kit of lift? If so what brand?

Mine is a billet aluminum 2.25” (2 1/4”) level front and 1” added rear block. ProComp or Ready Lift, had it done at 4wheelparts which included two front upper and lower strut extensions. $575.00 total for front and rear done with alignment, you’ve got to have an alignment done after front has been done.

Leveling kit for my 2018 up front but just put your vehicle info in there.

Btw, you can get Bilstein 5100’s ride height adjustable now so you don’t need leveling kit, paying just for shocks and alignment only.
