I checked out the custom programing and didn't see it mention anything about cameras.  I understand custom means just that but for those that are looking for a specific program it isn't showing on the site.

Is there really enough reason to need an override switch?  Maybe I'm ignorant, but the only time I ever need mine to stay down is when I'm washing the truck.  What is your reason for needing the switch?  Just curious.

The part number is AMP-79106-01A, I ordered from truckandgear.com because that is where I bought my steps.  Ran about $30 + $10 shipping (ordered separately from steps).  Probably can find it a few bucks cheaper.  Comes with the switch, wiring, and instructions.  I routed my wires through the rubber grommet under the drivers side carpet.  Had to remove the kick panel to pull back the carpet and run through the channel under the door will cover.  The kick panel and door sill cover is actually just one piece that easily pops out.  Picture for reference.

Can control the steps to manually keep them up or down.  For example if I go offroading and don't want them to come down when I open the door.  Or a more practical example when I go to the grocery store I can set them to stay down and if some little car tries to hit my door with their door hopefully they would hit the step first.  This can all be done manually but the switch just makes it a little easier.  Also I've heard if you force the steps to stay down and then step on top of them, it's bad for the step motor because your weight is basically resting on the gear for the motor.  Not sure if it's true but for $40, I figured it was worth the added control.  I think the switches were initially designed for jeeps where they regularly take their doors off.  Makes more sense for that application but figured why not.

Follow up to my other reply.  I think you may have been asking about the knee bolster panel, under the steering wheel.  That would make a little more sense since it is a PITA to remove.  I did not remove that panel.  I installed the switch with the panel attached.  Enough clearance to easily run the wire and put the locking nut behind the switch.  Have a look before drilling because if you go too far towards the parking switch a piece of plastic or something would obstruct the locking nut a bit.

4" Rough Country lift with Vertex adjustable coilovers (AT4 has 2" so 6" total)
35x12.5r20 Firestone Destination M/T2
20x9.5 -18 Black Rhino Axle Gloss White

I bought some Bushwacker DRT flares and was going to put them on but the wheels don't have enough poke or big enough so I don't think I'll be adding them...

@Dani2005 - I have to say I'm not one for white trucks.... But Holy S4!T!

 

I agree with @eppieguy. This is one of the nicest T1 rigs I've seen yet. Great setup, beautiful truck. Good luck with the mods!

 

I probably won't look to lift mine for quite a while.... Going to be looking hard at those coil overs when I do. They are sharp. Please report back on your experience with them.
