you know whats funny is on my 2020 LT 2500 if i use the fob to try nd close it it doesnt close but you can hear a click inside the tailgate......like it wants too but its just disabled or something......on 2021 LT has this feature now i wonder if it can be added to 2020.......sure seems like the feature is already in there just needs to be engaged.....but maybe not.....its only $180 from chevy as an option so that means its a $20 part, lol

The click is the unlock mechanism. The motor that lifts it isn't there.

There's nothing there for self closing. The click is the release operating. Only for opening.

I’ve also just discovered after 6 months of ownership that the interior lights especially the front are useless. Who needs lights aimed at their crotch??

I noticed that too. They are literally aimed at the doors with no usable light to the center. I added this and replaced the bulb with a bright LED.

Ever received road head? Apparently GM thinks the girl needs help since people who drive trucks have tiny Ds.

Don't respond to that. I'm probably going to get into trouble with the moderators for posting this.

Seriously though, I've found it useful when trying to read a paper or something else that doesn't have a light up screen. I mean, who needs a light in their face? GM did use the dimmest 5000 Kelvin rated led lamp they could find for that location, though.

Love these sunglass holders! Best ones I've found by far. I got the double so I take my glasses off, stow them and pull my sunglasses off.

Yes I have. My college girlfriend many years ago on a road trip driving back from nyc to Maine somewhere on I-84 outside of Hartford, Connecticut at around 1am with her father passed out snoring in the backseat.

Are the bulbs replaceable? In my 03 Duramax I got much brighter LEDs to replace the incandescent bulbs. It made a huge difference. I then got the same type that fit the mirror in my C6 Vette. It really sucks because being a convertible it only has the mirror lights. No place for a center light in a fabric top. That made a huge difference too but it still sucks. The one in the center of the roof in the 2020 puts out about the same light as a birthday candle behind a coke bottle. That's the one I would upgrade. The front ones would be a problem if you need a map light while driving. They would reflect off the windshield. They can't even be aimed. On the old truck the mirror lights and center light come on together so I upgraded them. The map lights are separate and can be aimed. That made more sense. I don't like that the map lights are part of the courtesy lights. Even on big trucks they are separate. Most have 2 on each side. One clear and one red to prevent reflection. Normally in one fixture on either side of the courtesy light. The courtesy light operates the way our map lights do when you push the lense. But GM went cheap on these trucks and made them dual purpose.

I wired it to the unused harness attached to the headliner.

The bulb upgrade is very bright!!!

If you unclip the sun visor, as if you were going to swing it to the side window, you can then pull it off the hinge side covering that little spot between the visor and rear view mirror.

It will block the use of the mirror, but I would rather see in what is in front of me than what's behind.
