This is a great thread and I read it all. Appreciate everyone's input.  I wish there was a thread for the refresh trucks that was similar because I am thinking a lot of this does not apply to 22 1/2 up trucks.  Maybe there is a thread somewhere. If so, point me to it :)

Again thanks. I learned a lot that actually did apply to my 2024.

There’s features in vehicles as far back as my wife’s 2011 Genesis I don’t use. I learned to do everything through my phone. Bluetooth is all I need. Then I don’t need to worry anything but driving.

Hey does anyone know how to turn off the automatic folding mirror feature when locking the truck?  I want to save wear on the motors.  Thanks-

On my 19 it's through the settings on the infotainment screen. Iirc it's under the "vehicle" menu.

I use Fuelio on my android. Always wanted to keep track but never did until i got it back from the dealer with 100,000 miles on the ODO  (after i replaced the transmission).  All of these costs are from Los Angeles, California area. If i was elsewhere, diesel would be much cheaper.

If you have an owners manual that includes the word 'essentials' in the title, it's the readers digest version.

There will be more information in the full version.

PDF is easier to navigate than a paper copy.

Both the 'essentials' guide and the full manual are available as free pdf download from either division website.

Diesel supplement pdf's are also available.

And there is a link to order paper copies from the company (HelmInc) that distributes them for GM.

For paper versions -- Full manual $50, Essentials $25

If you open the upper portion of the multi-pro tailgate when you have a trailer hitch installed, it will hit the ball. To prevent this, hold the upper button down for three seconds. The lights will flash, and the upper portion will be locked until it is pressed again for three seconds.

I was shocked to learn that my truck automatically locks the upper tailgate when the hitch is installed. I just bought it and maybe the last owner installed something? With the hitch installed I lowered the tailgate then pressed that upper button 28 times and it never released. Removed the hitch, lowered the tailgate, and it released on the first push.

Not stock on any Silverado or Sierra. There is a couple aftermarket options you can install that will lock out the upper gate if a hitch is installed.

The app is called Fuelly.    I have been using it for about 15 years.   I hear rumor they are about to do a major update of the app.  I am looking forward to it, if true.

I use it as well and have been for years.  This is when I had my Diesel Cruze.  Just sold it back in Feb.
