LOL. A 2020 or 2021 2500 Silverado. With any luck I'll be able to lemon that one too (they are still leaking and still documented cases on 2500's with build dates as late as 9/20.)

No leaker here so can't do a 100% verification, but the problem seems to be with the spoiler design, regardless of weather the sealer leaks or not, and any cracks in the trim make it worse.

surprised they didn't hit you with a non disclosure clause. This document proof will defiantly hurt GM's rep but it seems to me that they dont care about it. Playing the numbers game like in the movie fight club. X number of units sold divided by possible cost of recall= if x is less than y then they do nothing.....

Well said. Well said. I am a hardcore GM guy. Like I said - I know all auto makers have problems. My coworkers have brand new $80,000 Raptors with engine oil leaks. The problem is when they rake you over the coals and make you go through what I had to go through just to be made whole.

I was waiting for someone to post this.......Isn't that hilarious. Yep I'm surprised too. (I'm actually not.) They could give a F**K less. They literally print money with these trucks hand over fist. Yeah my lawyer couldn't believe there was no non-disclosure requirement. All they cared about was "NO FAULT." Shows you what they really give a f**k about..........

I call BS on this.  No way there aren't confidentiality provisions in that agreement.  Hope you have the check in hand and have spent it......

Hot damn....that is fantastic.  Paragraph 2(f) is interesting.  If someone on this board goes after GM based upon reading this agreement do you have to indemnify GM????  Just messing....that would be a pretty big stretch.

No, according to my lawyer it means that since one of the problems on my truck was brake issues - if one day I push the brake pedal and it goes to the floor, and my truck runs over a 3 year old, crashes into a pole and kills my kid in the back seat - tough sh*t for me.


He says auto manufacturers use this "settlement opportunity" to cover their asses for life.....

That make sense.  Does your atty think you have to disclose this to the next buyer or the dealer if you trade it?  That could be why there is not a confidentiality provision...

Hmmm. Good question. Not that I know.........but I also never specifically asked that question. I doubt it thought. The attorney said that in general this was a "We did nothing wrong, it costs us more to fight it than to pay you, take some money and go away, we-could-care-less" type deal.

 

I'm thinking I don't have to disclose it at all. Another thing the attorney said was that was one of the major points of this contract - GM admits no fault nor do they "admit the truck is a lemon" legally.


So I guess if I think about it logically - why would I have to disclose anything? There was no "legal branding" of the title as a lemon........again, I'll have to ask my lawyer specifically.

Is it possible with a VIN to pull up the service records done at any GM dealer anywhere nationwide ? So if someone were to buy a used vehicle, could they get all the service records, or in the case of Sam's truck, all the issues/history ? 

 

Most likely the truck will get wholesaled, go to auction, and end up on a non-dealer lot and the next buyer won't even think about it.

      There was talk over the last couple of years that the contract to build these trucks between GM and International would not be renewed.  International moved production of all their other trucks besides the companion CV model out of the Springfield plant some time ago when they opened their San Antonio plant.  That left Springfield only building the Silverado Medium Duty, International CV Series, and some Express/Savanna long wheelbase cutaways.  International also put the plant up for sale some time ago.  This all answered my earlier question as to why GM and International did nothing with these trucks since they were introduced, as they had basically become a market 'placeholder' with a finite life.    The Silverado Medium Duty/International CV trucks were interesting combination of a GM powertrain, electrical system, and K2XX Silverado cab with an International chassis that was supposedly designed for a step-van type vehicle they never produced.  They were manufactured in International's Springfield plant along with the IH MV series initially.  When first introduced, there was much talk that the Silverado Medium Duty/CV would eventually get a gasoline engine option along with other upgrades and GM and IH would work on a class 6/7 joint venture truck.  This was before VW bought Navistar out, after that happened no more was said.  Draw your own conclusions...   About the time talk started that the GM/IH joint venture was not going to be renewed, rumors started that GM would develop a new line of medium duty trucks themselves.  The story is the new trucks will be part of the next generation HD's due in 2028, and will still feature a 'straight rail' chassis design that the current medium duty has.  GM views this as a desirable feature that differentiates their truck from the competition.  A gasoline engine option is also expected.  As the current Silverado Medium Duty remains in production until September 2026 and there is still a lot of inventory available do not expect any official word for some time.   I believe GM remains committed to their successful partnership with Isuzu, and all the LCF models will still be available from Chevy Commercial dealers.  Isuzu is on the cusp of opening a new large plant in South Carolina and there is also speculation that this may result in new product for both Isuzu and Chevy Commercial dealers.

      I have a 2026 2500 HD Ultimate. My phone app says there’s a software update available. It’s something about improved battery management and something to do with the running boards. I follow the instructions for the update but the “Check for Updates” option is greyed out in my settings menu. Has anyone else seen this? How did you resolve it? The help message just says “see your dealer” if the download doesn’t work. I’m just trying to save a trip.

      Fuel mileage?  That's all how you use your right foot.  Exhaust will give you sound.   Stock exhaust 5.3 is 2.75" diameter piping.     If the truck is nice and worth putting some $$ into it, I'd go for a Corsa catback.  I had one on my 2019 old body 5.3 and it was just perfect.  Zero drone, just driving around and cruising on the highway you'd think it was stock, but when you opened it up it was like a Camaro with the factory dual mode.  Corsa bumps their catback to 3in diameter.
