I have a 2015 GMC Sierra Denali 1500.  The truck has factory installed radio, navigation, touch screen etc.  I am told I already have the I06 module, so why don't I have carplay?  And why do I have to buy another I06 to add carplay?  can't I just do a software update?

And there was a period towards the end of the 2016 production run that trucks will built without the ability to run carplay like the 15's).

Those affected had an rpo code indicating this and had a 'credit' on the invoice, since Carplay was advertised as available for the 16's.

A software update was released about March of 16 to enable Carplay to run on earlier built 2016's. (my '16 was in this category)

Because Carplay/Android weren't available until 2016 with the MyLink/Intellilink version 2.5 system.  2015 are MyLink 2.0.
