I have a Clore Model JNCXF - Jump-N-Carry Jump Starter - Made in USA.  Works fine.

Looks like they changed their models -

Those were the go to item 10 years ago.  Now not worth a dime.

Get one of the many Lithium Ion jump packs.  I've jumped a dead flat battery on a V10 Ford before with mine and it will fit in your pocket (I mean, you would notice it in your pocket, but it fits).

I got a Noco GB40 for my birthday last year.  I used it a number of times on my wife's car recently.  It worked well, and was very convenient to not have to involve another vehicle to boost the car with jumper cables.  I showed my wife how to use it, and then bought a second one, so that we can each have one in our vehicle.

I just bought a GB40 a few months ago. Haven't used it yet. Also still have a set of cables in my box. Plus is still have my old Shumaker or whatever in my truck. It's been good for the last few years. Can only jump one vehicle though. Bought the GB40 as an upgrade. Heard great things about it and its compact. Don't have to charge it as much as the Shumaker.

My 2 cents.

With the amount of computer control in the newer vehicles why jump period ?

Just replace the battery before it dies.

Avoid the dead battery situation.
