And look at what we are getting now vs. 1991.  So much more power, comfort, room, capability.  

 

You could buy a used truck today for $18k and it would still be nicer than what was being sold in 1991.

Yep. I bought my 2007 1500 CC TX Edition for $20K, actually. (Thanks, recession!) 

 

That was probably the height of value for truck buying. We won't see that again.

No, sale price.  Taxes, spray in liner and bed cover added to my over all cost.  It being a double cab helped.  They don't move them as fast as the Crew Cabs.  Before I was ready, they had the same truck, except with the 6.2L @ $40,000 roughly.  Once it dropped to that price it was gone next day.

Apparently, if I was a Costco member, I would get preferred pricing, which means around $3000 off. I asked them to give me that discount anyway, but they said they couldn't.

 

What do you guys think? Looks like it's just under 15% off MSRP, but it just doesn't seem like the dealer discount is very high. I think they're trying to take advantage because I'm a woman.  I got a much better deal on my civic (but it didn't have as much of a discount from the manufacturer).

Why would you not drive (or maybe even just sign up online) to Costco, give them $55, to get your additional $3K off?

Unfortunately, you need to have been a Costco member since July 2, 2019 or earlier.

And remember, 0% financing = them shoving all the interest in the vehicle price or your tradein

Yep, for sure. Like I said, it doesn't sound like a very good deal. (Don't even get me started on my trade. I never mentioned that in my original post because I haven't started negotiating on that yet, but his offer was absurd. )

 

The Costco offer expires on Sept 3, so signing up now won't help, unfortunately.

Sierra 1500 SLT Premium Plus, X31 and sunroof. MSRP of $59,495. Dealer is offering $50,571. Decent price? I feel like they could do better but they tell me there’s no more room. That’s with my supplier discount through my job.

They could definitely do $2-3K better pretty easily, IMO. Depends on what rebates are out and that your qualify for, though.

That’s what I figured. The only discounts are from rebates and nothing taken out from the dealer. They complained that Supplier Discount costs them money, so I asked them to explain knowing these programs are supported by the manufacturer. They stumbled and said “but we have to provide proof of the sale before they get that money”. Very true, but they still get the money. Why should I feel bad about that? It works the same way in consumer electronics which is what I do.
