2018 Silverado 400 miles 38% oil life

From an earlier reply it sounds like the dealerships make it a practice of resetting the OLM to 100% at the time of the sale. I will continue getting my first oil change at around 2000 miles or less on new vehicles as it sounds like no one purchasing a new vehicle can ever really know what the true OLM reading truly is.

Milage and driving conditions.. 3K is the normal for me.

These later year K2 also don't let  you go past 1 year intervals anymore either, even if you have not hit 7500 miles.

I do the same...had 4 free oil changes from GM when I bought the truck. Changed it every 6 months till that was used up and then once a year as it sits more then in use.

LOL...I knew the service writer...he made sure they knew I was very anal about my truck.

My local dealership is dumb.  When i go in to buy parts, (im turning my LT regular cab into an LTZ) tbey tell me oh tbat wont work. You should have just bought an ltz.  Well they were wrong. Im almost done doing it    and regular cabs dont come in LTZ and i still spent less doing the upgrades than the cost of a z71 regular cab tbat doesnt even have the options ive installed

Something is fishy with 38% at 400 miles.  I'm at 1300 miles and I think somewhere in the 6x% range. I will have it changed with one of my free changes before 3k regardless.

Agree...I’m at 2034 miles and still at 74% still going to change at 3000 and will take the catch cam off prior to change.

Thats why i was concerned not rest only 400 miles is a 2018 and oil life is 38% how can that be possible, would have read 98% if reset so somehow this is true, can't be the mileage can't be just sitting on the lot, what would cause this ?
