If regular paint doesn't hold up well, what are everyone's thoughts on brake caliper paint? I'm sure I have some extra laying around.

I pulled my factory off, scuffed / cleaned, and painted with multiple coats of Krylon red followed with several coats of clear coat. Easy to do but don't make the same mistake I did and rush trying to put them back on... marked up the paint a bit pushing through the plastic cover. Give them several days to dry and you will not have any issues.
