I have a setup very similar to yours. Actually just got it but boy o boy I didn't like the drive home. I now have a WDH but still think the trailer is too much. I have no power issue but I don't feel warm and fuzzy going faster the 60mph and if a car passes me I feel the truck suck. Not ver pleasant experience.

Thank you. Towing experience has been great. I really love this 3.0L Duramax and 10-speed transmission combination. I need to adjust the weight distributing hitch a little still. My only complaint are the shocks. I will be upgrading to better shocks and LT tires soon

Agreed but I don't go over 100km/h (60). No point. Gas mileage goes to ****** after 60 and I'm in no rush. I'm on holidays.

What are the specs of your travel trailer, how does it handle, do you use weight distribution hitch.

I just bought my first camper and lets say towing it is not fun. Especially without the WDH. i also feel that the airstream are much better travel trailer for towing.

Trailer is 27’ and model year 2018. Dry weight 6,396,  Payload cap 1,204, GVWR 7,600, Hitch Weight 929. Using a Equalizer 90-00-1200 hitch system and tows like the breeze.  Airstreams are quite aerodynamic for towing. Wouldn’t recommend them for family camping due to the size. My wife and I plus a 70# dog are comfortable but adding numbers for any extended length of time would be cramped to say the least. Current trip 606 miles, average mpg is 11.5 and I have the 6.2 V8. Pretty flat terrain and 64–68 mph on the highway with minimal wind. My only complaint is the combo of mpg plus one size fits all fuel tank equals frequent stops to refuel.
Finally, a WDH will make a big diff for any travel trailer. Wouldn’t tow without one. Happy camping!

I towed a travel trailer with a 5.3 double cab with no issues what so ever, I recently bought a new crew cab which squats way lower than the double due to more weight being towards the rear. Bought the Andersen WDH and it solved all my problems definitely worth it, much better than than traditional wdh bar set ups no binding when backing up and zero noise. I would suggest some type of WDH, your front end is way too high based on your pictures.

I installed a WDH, and it made it a lot better but still a bit squirmy when car passes (over take). For some reason passing traffic from the opposite direction had no effect (2lane back road) going 65mph

Yes it is the 239ML. Towed pretty good the only time I’ve towed it so far. Against 30mph winds. Next weekend we are pulling it 140 miles each way, that’ll be the real test. Not expecting a problem

So give us an update. What is your setup and how does it tow?? Have a 2020 LT Trail Boss being delivered any day now and have been looking at TTs in same weight class.

It gets squirmy when a vehicle overtakes you because of the change in air pressure. I get it also...the air pressure change will "suck" you over towards them. I'm used to it now so I know to prepare for it. The worst is semi's and larger vehicles...even when your overtaking them.

Enjoy my 3.0L and how easy it pulls. 6eb969fbc50a16432ffac54f9d49c693.jpg

that is the one that got away form me. I wish I would have waited for 3.0 Diesel. Maybe on my next truck if they are still making them.

Towed this for about 20 miles yesterday just to check out turning clearance on the new short beds with a different trailer and also to see how my Timbren SES load levelers worked.

Surprised you have the payload capacity for a 5th wheel.
