Has anyone made the Curt 16024 Pucks work with the A16 hitch?  their website says only A20, A25, or A30.  I have an A16, of course!

I asked Curt about this and they said these legs/pucks will work with any one of their hitches

Thanks, Jasonv93.  etrailer just told me the same thing so I ordered one next day shipping.  Hoping to get it Tuesday for a Thursday trip.  I'll let everyone know if it worked.

So I just received the Curt 16024 puck legs and I can confirm they will NOT work with an A16 hitch.  I called Curt, and they said etrailer was wrong and the only two hitch heads it will work with is A20 and A30.  They confirmed there will be a new puck system coming out in a few weeks that will work with the A16 and others.  Do not trust what etrailer says on their website.  It's wrong at the moment.

Weird. Curt told me all will work.

So did etrailer.  Until I called them on it.. Then they tried to tell me it would work with certain models of the A16, etc.  I called Curt at the request of etrailer and they said no, an A16 is an A16 and it will not work - only an A20 or an A30 will work with the current legs (The other models refer to the leg types - but all have an A16 hitch head).  But they are releasing one in a few weeks that will work.  He said its rated for 25k and not 30k, like the 16024.  Basically, it sounds like they just remove the welded on pins and it will line up right (and lose some weight carrying capability).

Anyway, I've decided to go with a B&W Companion RVK3710.  That comes in tomorrow so crossing fingers there are no more hiccups!

Just finished a 1350mi journey to Florida, truck is a towing beast.

Transmission works flawlessly, stopped at the scales 25160# combined.

I am down 1.1mpg compared to the '18 towing same trailer on same route. '18 had a derringer, and lower rear gear.

Cant believe I have not seen another 2020 on the road, lots of thumbs up for us tho.... :)

9.9mpg was my average

I'm surprised by the drop in mpg. Hoping mine goes up from the 8 I got in my 18 Denali HD. Just did my first pull and averaged 9.4, but it was a lot of hills and curves. Love the 10 speed!!

Just completed my first tow.  About 300 miles on hilly curvy roads.  I averaged 9.4 MPG.  My new B&W 20k Companion  (RVK3710) did excellent!

It’s the 6’9” box. We currently have a 2018 Cedar Creek Silverback. Pulled it with a non slider Reese Elite in my 2016 6’6” for three years.

Going forward I can turn as short as possible and not hit. Backing up in a forced jack knife I can hit. Don’t know the degrees. I tried it after install and to be honest the stress on the axles, tires  and wheels was more of a concern. I am careful and watch very close when backing up. I currently have BW hitch installed with pivot point all the way forward. If I become more concerned I can move it back 2 inches although the end gate might be getting close.

I am about to order my 2020 Standard box truck (moving from a LBZ with an 8' box), and I was wondering if you could measure from the center of the jaws where the king pin sits to the cab of the truck? I think this would help many of us greatly with our respective setups to verify a slider is not required.

Hopefully someone else can help. I took out the hitch out for pheasant season. It will be back in by the first of November and can measure then if you still need it. Good Luck.

As soon as I get home tomorrow from a trip, I'll measure for mine if no one else has done so by then.  I have my B&W in the rearward position so it can move forward by 2 inches.

I did my hitch at the normal straight up position on the B&W, since the default positioning of the puck holes and gooseneck is adjusted to the rear by around 2 inches.

That being said I just measured from center of jaws to inside of bed and then added the distance to the cab itself.  Jaws to inside of front of bed is 41 inches, add in distance to cab and your looking at around 44.5 to 45 inches due to the way the aerodynamic piece is on top of cab.  I guarantee I could "hit" my cab with my fifth wheel, but that would be a very tight turn and is usually never needed to turn that tight.  Previously I used a manual sliding Reese 20K hitch, had that hitch for the last 5 years and never once did I use the sliding feature.
