Need some insight/opions on the damage to my truck.

So I took my truck in for service, oil change, tire rotation last Friday, and they managed to let my truck slide off of the small scissor lift they use to rotate the tires.

So, for all of the Captain Obvious Crew out there who want to preach the virtues of doing their maintenance, feel free, but I do not have the time or desire to do it myself.

Looking for guesses/answers on what could have been damaged.

Share your thoughts, and I will let you know what the dealership has told me so far.

I’m not sure what those parts looked like before but it appears they did their job and protected the other components. Did it mess up your rotors or anything?

100% I would have them file a claim and give you there insurance info. then I would want new frame. Not like these trucks are cheap and not your fault so why should you be out. one is the abs I think and the other a fuel evap canister I think. I'm use to race cars and we don't have these parts.

I would get a quote from a dealer and have them Ham it up. about structural integrity and the safety of the braking system. that it is all out of spec, there is a great concern of harm or death. That is is not road worthy. then see if claim is denied . HA

You're outta your mind if you think that deserves a new frame.

How can an insurance adjuster ever say that some thin metal brackets getting bent is worth a whole new frame?

Make them fix the bracket at a body/frame shop and fix all the ABS lines and pump if damage.

Agree no frame replacement.

Minor damage compared to some accidents.

Some people need a chill pill.

Pictures don't give a good indication of what was actually damaged.  A fall of a stand with the wheels off is not a little oops, imo.  (Why wasn't the truck on a proper hoist?  I assume this wasn't a GM dealership)   I would have my truck transported to a reputable GM dealership for assessment and repair.  1slow1500 makes a valid point. Go in with the mindset that you want a new frame and elevate the seriousness of this accident.  We know that a new frame is not forthcoming but the shop owners will do what they can to, "make you whole again."

Once again my friend, take the time to read the whole post.

They are going to fix it, question was (once again, read whole post), is it worse than it looks.

If you had read the whole post, you would have seen the part about me sharing what is happening.

If they replayed the video after they told me on TV, it would be nothing but a string of bleeps!!!!

Wheels were on, it was a GM dealership.

Body shop manager looking at it today.

They are taking care of all damage, driving a 19 they gave me as a loaner right now.

I like your thinking, but if the frames are that fragile on the GM's, I might be looking for a new brand.

Wheels were on so it didn't fall on rotor, it slid of a jack big deal. Have any of you ever used a jack-all before in the off-roading days? Bent over two mounting tabs that can easily be bent back with a little heat from an oxy/acet. Hit it with some NOX rust, good to go. The only thing I would be concerned about is that when I do a rotate, I break my lug nuts on the ground using a bar (because I don't have a soft socket and don't want to mess up the nice chrome lug nut caps, they will crack with an impact.) then spin them off with an impact after the truck is lifted. If they loosened your wheels before it slid off the jack, your wheel studs/lug nuts could be damaged and I would recommend changing if that were the case.

I wouldn't be happy either as I am a meticulous and careful person when it comes to trucks, but I am also a business person and I would tell you to kick rocks if you wanted me to replace your entire frame for that haha.

Frams are strong the bracket was never designed to lift the weight of the truck. Every vehicle is like this. Honestly if can be fixed. I was just saying to have it written up for the insurance company like that so you have options. When do to a place.you trust and they can pull that back down. I would stitch weld where the 90* on the bracket meets the frame and then GM frame coat the area.
