It’s going to take another 10 years at least in order to get it right.

Not for me thank you...don't want my garage and house blown up or even worse in a collision with my wife and kids on board for this to happen. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/22/tesla-investigating-apparent-explosion-of-parked-car-in-shanghai.html

Whoa nelly. I never even thought about getting in an accident in an electric car. Now I really think they are a stupid idea.

Imagine if whatever's in that battery gets splattered all over you on top of the injuries you sustain from the accident itself. No thanks. ⚡??‍?

I think this is a big joke. If not then it certainly won’t be mass produced. Some rich folks will by them just to say hey look at me but you won’t start seeing these at every stop light.

now that ford has the Mustang Mach E coming out I suspect Tesla won’t be around much longer. I give em 5yrs if not less. They’ve been on the verge of bankruptcy since day one. A real competitor like Ford will ruin them. Once they bring the electric F150 to market that will be the nail in the coffin.

Last I read a few days ago there’s 250K deposits already. I see a few of their cars daily especially in Houston.

The Tesla cars are also very common here.  Criticism of the pickup on this forum doesn't surprise me however I'll be much less surprised if these do well.   Those of us who were adults during the transition to home computers or to wireless personal phones know that change draws out strong emotions.   Even though computers were going to take over our brains  and cell phones cause cancer we eventually embraced these products.   I also remember when companies like IBM was a serious computer developer and Apple was not.   When I first saw the reveal of the Tesla pickup, I felt challenged to understand why they would want to upset people by deviating from our traditional perceptions of a pickup. Jacoby suggested my immediate thought and that is they have to step beyond what we expect from Ford or GM if they are to succeed.  I believe the form and function of the Tesla pickup more accurately reflects how pickups are used today.   The more I look beyond the wow factor the more I admire the thought behind the design.  I believe there is an ample market to keep competition healthy.

Closest one'll ever get to a work situation is humming down Rodeo Drive.  If PG&E is up and running that day.

That’s because deposits are only $100. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get a million deposits.

look at the model 3. It was supposed to be their economical option for an electric car and you got folks that put down deposits years ago and still haven’t received their cars yet.  Elon is a scam artist. He promises something then when it’s time to deliver he either can’t or it’s $20k more than you thought you were gonna pay.
