Buying a Lemon... Yes or No?

if you buy it and nothing goes wrong your good if it becomes a headache you wont

but even if nothing ever goes wrong, everytime you get in drivers seat youll be waiting for it to do so....

you can still get a really nice truck for 45k, actually a really bitchin one if you really do your diligence to get best deal

weren't they just knocking off like 14-15k on denalis just cpl weeks back?

16k and lemon for 48k are they high, 30-35k maybe.

It is one thing to buy a new vehicle and get stuck with a lemon; quite another to go out of your way to purposely buy a used one.

Not at all worth it. My buddy owns a GM dealership in West Texas. They currently have 2019 2 Denali Ultimates on their lots with around 15-19K miles, listed for sale in the high $40Ks.

Shop around a little and you can get the used Denali you want with the lemon hangover.

You’d need to supply vin though.

VIN is in his first post.

I’m betting...window leak twice, brake failure, and slight chance of blown oil cooler line/ engine replacement.?

Heres the VIN again: 1GTU9FEL2KZ104159

Please PM me any info you can, or email me the service records if possible.

Thank you

Oh sorry I didn’t read that!

I can only see what was replaced not why.

After reading through the warranty history I can tell you he had the rear spoiler water leak twice and a radio replaced, front brake pad sensors replaced (not uncommon issues)
And a hood latch replaced (that ones odd)
All in all nothing really crazy going on with the labor ops ran or the frequency of what they did. Looks like a serious problem customer though, GM paid his payment twice [emoji51]

It passes my sniff test, so I say go for it!

Hope this helps

I was told it has 21 service records and a bunch of modules had been reset, also it spent 24 consecutive days in the shop waiting on parts to fix the rear window leak/spoiler. Also, can you define a problem customer for me?

Each recall done must be a service record because it has a lot of recalls.

Only issues were the water leak issues a radio and hood latch

A ‘problem customer’ is my short way of saying they were a customer that does not care to have the issue(s) resolved at that time and instead chooses the buyback route. This customer may have had bad service, does not like the product, no longer feels it is reliable, etc. Or potentially some combo of the three.
It does not in any way refer to the individual themself, only referring to the situation they were in at that time.

The product must be fixed before being resold again, which GM has a process for.

Based on warranty claim history I would feel good buying that truck for a discounted price!

Hope this helps

Nearly everyone telling the OP don't do it, he's made up his mind, we'll read the horror story after delivery.

Nope just doing my due diligence.

For me, if someone gave up on a brand new truck because of problems, I don't think I want to find out what those problems are. Just me.
