I’m wondering. Remember H1-N1? Mass hysteria? Stock Market going crazy? Who’s going to make money? Who’s pushing the most hysteria? Election year? Remember how many people died before we even heard any concern about H1-N1. Stock market during that time. I heard a good quote last night when the question was asked. The flu kills thousands a year, why the hysteria with this? The flu is a car wreck. This one is a plane crash. And then there’s the media. Be safe, be smart, don’t be fooled.

We also don't want to be too casual about the potential.  This virus is significantly deadlier than the flu and is particularly concerning for us seniors.  it isn't an election issue.  I have family in the United States,  New Zealand,  Scandinavia and Canada.  All are paying close attention to this pandemic.  This situation has created an awareness how these viruses can spread around the world and hopefully we'll be the wiser as a result.  Yesterday a federal plan was introduced (Canada) to allow workers to stay home if they are sick.  I have wanted this for decades!  How many of us have faced that worker hacking and snorting all over the work place.  Suggestions for them to go home are met with, "I can't afford to be sick."  or "I'm too indispensable".  I don't argue that there is hysteria out there like panic buying toilet paper at Costco (Guilty ? ).  The real problem is those that go too extreme in the opposite direction and choose to ignore the threat.

I think the Corona virus has killed almost 5,000 people so far world wide, it's estimated 290,000 to 650,000 people died last year of the flu.  It's projected 38,000 people will die through this years flu season in the U.S.  61,000 people died during the 17-18 flu season in the U.S.

All this prep and cleanliness and caution to stay home if sick and so on should be practiced year around. Then we wont have these big outbreaks as much.

But sadly after this blows over, people will go back to their habits and not washing hands, going to places when sick and so on..

H1-N1 killed 12K just in the US. The flu killed 19K last year 60K the year before in the US. How about traffic deaths? This hysteria is for one reason. Smart people know why. Let’s just destroy our economy on why ifs.

You've left out Y2K when the clocks in the computers were going to set off the nukes worldwide and send planes crashing from the sky. Another perfect example of a less than extraordinary issue wasting billions of dollars and manhours trying to correcting software when all it really needed was to reset old clocks.

What next, have exposed people wear bells around their necks..........worked with lepers?

My theory is that people are worried about the high mortality rate.  Of course, I may not be smart. ?

You mean it may get as high as the flu deaths no one notices or the HI-N1 or traffic deaths. Look it’s all bad, I don’t want anyone to die. The hype is ruining people’s livelihood and people are panicking. Why because of the news media overhyped coverage to ruin our president. Need evidence, look at the last 3 years. They have even admitted it, if you pay attention. H1-N1 wasn’t hardly a blip in coverage or hysteria. Do I need to spell it out. This happens about every three- four years. Remember? Of course not. This one will be. Just look at flu deaths in the last 3-4 years. It’s acceptable loss to live ours lives. That’s how it is.

The fact that one cause of death is more common than another doesn't lessen the concern   Yes, other diseases/viruses have done more damage than Covid 19 has done up until now.  It has hit other countries very hard and is now in my "neighbourhood."  It was a problem before infected cases were found in North America and has nothing to do with who is the current US President or CDN Prime Minister.

Saw this crap coming a year ago when pundits and media were cheering for a bad economy to affect their desired outcome for the upcoming election......and they'd all hop like flies on poop to feed fear at the first opportunity to never let a good tragedy go to waste........and dumped all my stocks into low rate secured Government bonds.

The question you have to ask yourself is why it's named COVID19, because COVID #1 - 18 were just as virulent corona viruses but ill timed politically. Three years of BS about Russians affecting the 2016 election fooling some people who never learn, but some learn all too well.......now thanks to all the hype it appears the Chinese will have an affect on the 2020 election.

Makes you wonder if China saw an opportunity. It’s seems to affect the old and weak. I’m not saying they made it. Just maybe held back a bit. Kill a couple birds with one stone. They were called out on the unfair trade practices. It they did it may backfire. We are realizing that are meds are in their control. I’ve been around awhile. These last 3 years have opened my eyes. I’ve said all I’m gonna say on this. I did this to produce some though. I don’t want it to get ugly.

    • Late reply, but yes—it works on the SLT trim. Compatibility comes down to the plastic shroud shape behind your mirror, not the trim badge itself. On the SLT with auto-dimming, it uses a plug-and-play Y-harness off the mirror/rain sensor power, so no need to run wires down to the OBD port. If anyone's ever unsure about fitment, just drop a photo of your mirror housing and we can double-check it.   Appreciate the detailed feedback on the install! On the windshield glare—we actually took feedback like yours and developed a dedicated CPL (polarizer) filter to cut down dash reflections on sunny days. If you're still running the cam, shoot me a DM. I'd be happy to send a CPL filter over for you to test out—no charge.
    • There are no stickers in your glovebox?
    • Look at the numbers on the stickers in the door jam...
    • Yes, every time the developer updates his code, you must recompile. I will private message you with the latest because it changes pretty much with every version.
    • After I wrote that reply I went for a ride. 85 F out. So trans started at 85 F and it shifted the same as it did an hour latter at 168 F. I've never actually recorded the to cold to shift point but it is under 32 F before they start hanging on to a lower gear or leaving the converter unlocked. Both intended to heat fluid.    Yes, brake or bake. Absolutely.      Your welcome. True research ended decades ago. Field trials are still in play.    There is a thing called oxidation onset temperature. This is the heat related oxidation not the O2 exposure kind. For mineral oil that starts at 140 F. So what happens after 140 F? Each 20 F cuts fluid life in half! Does using a Full Synthetic improve that? Yes! By how much? Depends on the base oil type and a few other factors. But enough to notice. Some esters are even higher. There are even synergies between types the will raise it higher than any one component is alone.    Then there is "Hindered" oils. Antioxidant additives. Hindered Polyol Esters can sit at 500 F for years in a turbine.   When a blender brags his oil will 'take 500 F" in service he doesn't specify for how long. Water will dance on a 500 F hot plate for several seconds. @newdude put up a chart showing the relationship between fluid temperature and it's life in an automatic transmission. Here's a version of that chart for Group III based oils. These temperatures are those in the pan as observed as 'normal'. that is you drive as you do for as long as you do under what load you ask of it and whatever that temperature is this graph applies to. Flash temperatures of a few minutes isn't what his means.    Note that fluids held at a constant 240 F have a service life of only 20K miles. 220 F explains the factory exchange limit, eh? My equipment I keep under 180 F and I'm good if the cooler will hold it as low as 140 F. But that's me.
