In 2014 my local dealer had 13 leftover Denali’s at 15 K off. They also had Texas editions at 15K off that we’re 2014s. I drove mine out at 27K. I didn’t need leather, sunroof, Bose, and navigation. That kind of thinking allows a person to retire at 58. If you’re like my wife an keep your ride for 10 years, go for it.

You would be wrong.

Well it's not that smart if you are paying 70k american for a 1500 truck, even a denali 1500 loaded to the gills is worth no more than mid to high 50's the second it's back tire leaves the lot imo! If you're not waiting to get at minimum 20% off the msrp, then your over paying for it. Dealers right now are taking advantage of the low lot inventory with plant shutdowns. Buying right now is just not a smart move imo, i don't think prices will get back to normal until the end of next summer as long as there are no more shut down issues.

Well, about 4 months ago I found a 2019 Denali in slate blue, has the 6.2, bose, HUD, retractable steps, magna, etc.  It's a beautiful truck. It had 28K miles on it and I got it for 47K.  Did I steal it?  Nah.  Do I love it?  Yep.  I'll prob drive it for 10 years.  The 6.2 is great because this is my first truck and I came out of a 300 hp lexus sedan (2006), and I didn't want to feel like I had no power.  The ride is amazing, it's super quiet, and I love the tech.  In Atlanta in the summer, remote start is very useful.  So I drive a Denali and didn't pay 70K.  I was looking at Chevy's originally and like them a lot and would gladly own one.  But with this one, I love it everytime I look at it and climb up into it and hear it rumble just a bit.

I’d say you did just fine, especially now looking at today’s market standards. Things are real tight and if you love the truck, even better.

The people who are really gonna hurt (unless they have more money than brains) are the ones who will pay close to sticker for a 2020 or a 2021 in the next year.

Still shopping around for an SLT/5.3/4x4/Crew Cab/5.5FT Bed. The limited supply and high demand for SLT's isn't helping too much.

Everywhere i look online, it seems there is a ton of Denali vehicles to choose from.

I'm assuming nobody wants to buy one due to their $70,000 sticker.

Why are the Denali's $8k+ over a fully loaded SLT?

Doesn't that seem like overkill for the same truck with a little extra leather?

Because people still buy them. Yea, it's really that simple.

Many purchasing new homes, vehicles, toys, etc. Price does not seem to be a real concern.

Their trucks and suvs are the only things that bring a profit back to gm, they have to continue to raise the cost so Mary can pretend to be something GM will never be, which is Tesla!

The rear drive GM large cars made money. The trucks make more. If they still made rear drive large cars I’d have one. I’ve owned 13 Impalas up to the 94.

Also consider resale. Many people spending high dollars for style over function will not keep it that long, because they want the next best thing when it comes out. The used market is great for high end packages as many people that can’t afford them first time around then overpay on the used market. So when folks are swapping out a Denali for something new, trade in/resale helps a little. Of course, it’ll never completely justify the jump in price...

In Tulsa you can pick up a new AT4 with premium package for 49K, has 95% of what Denali has but with a 2" lift.

Depends on what packages it has. It could be a stripped AT4.

Also i believe the denalis use different leather, not just more. My wifes yukon denali has much nicer, softer leather than my 14 ltz or my 2020 rst have.

Right now you can buy a Denali with MSRP @ $70500 for $56500 at Howard Bentley GMC in AL and could probably get the same deal at Laura Buick GMC in St Louis. Both dealers also offer similar discounts on SLT's or AT4's. EVERYTHING costs more in California.
