So I'm planning on adding a radar detector (Escort 360c) and using a BlendMount.  I like the BlendMount and it has worked well in my other vehicles.  I'm also considering a dash cam.  Escort also has a cam (M1) which uses the same power cord as the radar detector and will also fit on the same mount.  Nice and tidy.  Having said that, the M1 is average at best, from what I can see from reviews.

Anyone else using a dashcam?  Any recommendations?  Anything that will mount as tidy as the M1?

Viofo A129Pro is a good front facing camera (don't get the rear as it jacks with the TPMS and keyfob controls)

BlackVue DR900X has a slightly lower image quality but (IMHO) a better form factor and wireless/cloud

The M1 is a case of "you get what you pay for".  It's 1080 vs 4K of the above two which have 4K.  It won't have as good of night vision.

Have a Escort 360 Max, best detector I have owned, but also the worst display.

They use an OLED screen which "fades" after a very short period of time. Do you know if they have updated the screens yet? Literally can not see the display in any daylight conditions now.

Ive used several now, and I don't know that I've had one yet that was easy to quickly see/read the display.

I have the 9500ix in the Camaro, and I can't see it during the day either, and Camaros allow much less light into the interior.

I don't recall the manufacturer, but at one point there was a product that would feed the detector data into the data bus using the OBD2 port, and would then display the info on the DIC and/or HUD.  That would be nice.

Anyone know if one of those mirrortaps exists for getting power? Have one for my Vette with a blend mount and it was an easy, clean install.

Yep.  They have multiple tips so they are a universal fit.

Hey, is that the R7 or R3?

Not sure which one I want yet, but that one looks nice and neat.

I have an old V1 which I used to run on an S4 years ago, but that got annoying with the beeping and constant muting each alert because of a a child sleeping in the car lol

So wondering how muting works on this thing?

Love the mirror on yours too... I have a 19 AT4 and an ugly black mirror. Do you happen to have the part number to the mirror too so I can see if I can swap out.

I was just shopping around a bit again this morning, and Escort, Radenso, and Uniden all use OLED.   I used to hear good things about the Valentine One as well, but they appear to be missing the mark as of late, at least in the reviews that I was reading.

So I guess I'm just more concerned about camera choice at this point.  Never had one before, so I'm trying to research and just get input from those that do use them.

It's the R7. Best detector I've ever owned....especially with the new auto lockout firmware they just released.

So from what I'm reading, the manual dimming rearview mirror does not have power.  So it looks like I will need to run power from the fuse box (I've found a Gen5DIY kit).  Is what I've found so far correct, before I start prying plastic bits off to investigate on my own?  Can anyone confirm?
