My 2019 4.3L with 6-speed transmission was a total loss last week. I need a new (Custom trim). Now only see 2.7T paired with 8-speed transmission. As far as I know, GM 8-speed transmission has been infamous, facing class action lawsuit. Is this only affecting to ~2019 model year or current model too? 2.7T also reliable? Thank you.

The latest 8 speeds have been pretty damn good.  I think you will be pleased.

Your also going from a 4.3 to a 2.7T so you will make more power and more power torque every where in the power band.

Is it a 2022 refresh or 2022 LTD?  I do know the refresh, because of the added power with the 2.7 HO, they re-tuned the shift points on the 8 speed.  So far mine has been great.

Did GM eliminate that first shift of the day clunk or slip (not sure what the right terminology is) in the 2022 refresh 8 speed?

My 2019 8 speed has been great as well with the exception of the first shift of the day.   Known thing.   No biggie.

Wonder if they "fixed" it somehow.  Great to hear.  Maybe a 2.7 is in my future.

I had two 8 speeds. First one needed a converter, never an issue after that. second one was fantastic. Great for towing, good trans IMHO. I always felt it was a programming issue.

20' 2.7T with the 8 speed here. No problems. I have a lift and slightly big tires handles it really well.
