I'm sorry for posting this if it has been posted 1000 times elsewhere. I did some quick search but I just wanted to confirm.

I'm thinking of going to look at a 2007 Avalanche LTZ w/ RSE. The truck seems fully loaded but it does not have navigation. I'm a little surprised that it doesn't have it seeing how most of the other trucks optioned this way have it.

I know that in many cases a person can add the navigation on their own. I know as far as my corvette goes as long as it has the Bose stereo system you can buy any Nav system and plug it in then bring it to the dealer to program the VIN.

Now in my reading around people were saying as long as the truck DOESN'T have Rear Seat Entertainment than any 07+ unit will work. But, what is needed if someone does have RSE and wants to add a factory Nav unit?

I understand teh factory units are not the best and not the most user friendly but they can be picked up pretty cheap and the install looks cleaner than an aftermarket unit.

Thanks in Advance.

Look up the advent unit

Thanks, that actually doesn't look bad. Finding pricing seems to be hard but from what i can see it is around $1000 or so going off of what another person said they paid on a different forum.

I can tell you from my personal experience...Go aftermarket. It's worth the money. The stock Nav unit is absolute garbage. I hate the damn thing and I wish my truck had come with the standard stereo.

If all you want is the navigation function, go spend $150 on a Garmin. They look better, work better, and you can take it with you if you switch cars (my wife has even used hers just walking around).

Grrrr...Even my backup camera pisses me off
