What did you do with your truck/shop today

That's a common one. In vehicles that were neglected as far as oil changes are concerned, those will be packed solid with sludge and metal shavings. Another piss-poor design from our engineering friends at GM ...

Gave the floor a good brushing and washing.

Winter has been long ongoing here in Missouri.

Plenty of road salt and dried sand dust from pavement treatments.

Rebuilt a 2003 Suburban cluster, LEDed in blue, also sold and programmed a FOB for it.

 

 

 

Also programmed 2 FOBs for a 2006 Uplander and sold & programmed 2 for a 2009 Chevy Silverado HD dually.

Drove to work. I love heaters in a V8 equipped vehicle. They work so well, and quickly too!

 

Summit has some great shipping times. My brake fluid and new Mobil Dexron HP got here quite expediently.

I love my old truck. It’s old school enough I don’t need a degree to work on it, if I want. I get the old V-8 sound. And I don’t have to drive it every day. If I needed a daily I be knocking on Ryan’s door. I understand the wanting new technology though. I wouldn’t usually buy used, his I would.

My brother just dumped his '16 Ram 1500 with less than 25k on the clock. It's been to the dealer for:

 

• Leaking front diff pinion seal
• Burning smell under hood and in cab
• Rusting bumpers (right thru chrome at 2k miles!!!!)
• Leaking front struts
• Blown heater core

Then, on the way to the dealership to trade it in for a '19 Tundra the LEDs for the mirror switches all went out. When he got home, there was a recall for the airbags ... due to METAL FRAGMENTS in them ....

 

Welcome to the 21st Century! I think I'll keep my cars and trucks in the 20th!!

Changed the oil, greased the front end, cleaned the AEM air filter, washed the truck. Ready for some more windshield time.
