When I had redone my control arm bushings and put energy suspension in, I put anti seize on the bolts figuring that would keep them from making noise. Few months down the road and now they are squeaking when you rock the truck and sometimes when you are going down the road and hit some bumps. So my question is, for the control arm bushing bolts and the leaf spring bushing bolts, do I put grease or anti seize on them or do I leave them dry so they wont make any noise? It is metal to metal contact between the bolt and the inner sleeve of the bushing, so I figured they would make noise eventually, but I'm not sure what they do from the factory so they dont squeak. If anyone can enlighten me on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Energy suspension bushings squeak, search on google its the type of material that is used, if i remember correctly the only harder none squeak bushings are the graphite ones.

OK sorry.

Energy suspension makes a few different types of bushings and they are ususally harder than the OEM rubber bushings. So depending on which type/material you bought they will all squeak except the graphite bushings.

This is not just with Energy suspension its the material against the metal that makes the squeaking i have heard that some guys use teflon tape on the bushing to prevent the squeaking.

Hope this helps.

Any aftermarket suspension parts with the poly-urethane bushings that I've installed came with silicone grease for lube. Silicone resists washing out, and keeps them quiet. Otherwise they creak and groan.

I used it for the bushing to metal contact, but I'm wondering what to use for the inner sleeve to bolt contact? Can I use it for that as well?

I'm not sure the squeak would be the bolt to sleeve contact. I may be the polyurethane to sleeve. I had an aftermarket rear sway bar on my 98 and the polyurethane bushings squeaked like crazy. I finally drilled the mount and the bushing clear through and installed a grease fitting in the mount so that when I greased it the grease went through the bushing and lubricated the bar to bushing interface. That fixed it but it was a little messy.

It shouldn't be the bolt to sleeve (unless they are loose). When you tighten down the bolts, it should be tight against the sleeve.

On my '08, the aftermarker sways I got came with grease zerks on the bushings which are nice.
