Squeaking under gauge cluster!

2003 Chevy Suburban.

Have a high pitched, mouse-like squeaking noise coming from somewhere under the gauge cluster. Is similar to the sound/pattern a squeaky wheel would make. Occurs intermittently when engine is running and is not affected by gear selection, RPMs, steering, or vehicle speed.

I removed the gauge cluster and the relay/computer directly beneath the steering column (1st pic) and the noise still continued. Sound origin seems to be coming from one of the two items on each side of the column (2nd & 3rd pics) or from inside the steering column itself.

Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you.

The sound persists even when the cluster is unplugged & removed.

Yes, sound continues with HVAC turned on or off.

I had a similiar noise, was worst during cold weather, ended up being the neutral safety switch or plunger thingy that releases when you depress brake.
