I drove a car momentarily many years ago who's cluster lights lit up through what seemed like a pitch black hole in the dash.  No numbers, just the needles and tick lines.  The needles did their little calibration dance and then the rest of the led lights came on.  I thought the floating lights inside of a void look was pretty neat.

I'm wondering if it's possible to replicate this with my Silverado.  Could I tint the cluster lense with a "no glare" dark film?  The goal being that I can't see the bezel around the gauges, just pitch black darkness and led lights.  What tint level should I use?  I don't want to use "Limo Tint" and find out I can't see my cluster lights during the day.

Just get an anti reflecting film, might help - no tinting needed.
Also, there is a dial to the left so one can adjust dash light brightness as well as the switch illumination.
