I think this lift or the 5" fabtech is ideal. Suits the truck very well and not "over-the-top".

Nice truck btw

that's just the height I'm looking for! Looks awesome. I also have a AT CC are those stock size tires? And how's the ride any difference with cornering? And not to play 20 questions would you mind posting the part number of the kit? Thanks in advance.

Can you run the stock rims?

You can not run stock rims. BDS suggests 4.5 inches of backspacing with 18 inch rims which is 0 offset factory rims are +30 offset I believe. They suggest something different for 20's I believe.

The lift kit also pushes the front tires out an additional 1.5 inches so they do stick out quite a bit. I am still debating fender flares. I don't want them but mud in the door handles gets annoying. For now I have a rag in each door to wipe my hands ha ha.

The tires are 275 65 r18 not sure what stock was but they are slightly bigger than stock I believe. They are basically 32 x 10.8 and there is a ton of room anywhere. I would think 33 x 12.5 shouldnt be a problem.

As for the ride, I have never driven a stock 2014. I drove the dealership's owner's truck which had a fabtech lift and then I drove mine only after it was done. So I don't know how it compares. I do know it rides as good or better than my 2010 with a readylift level kit. I don't know if it is the new design or the lift kit but I have noticed that it doesn't really lean in corners. It stays almost flat.

I don't have a part number. The dealership ordered it. But it was the basic 4 inch lift kit for a crew cab with aluminum control arms. The only choices are steel or aluminum arms and if you want the upgraded struts and shocks.

Hope this all helps. Here is another angle

I should also note that I phoned BDS a few times to ask questions when making my decision and they were awesome to deal with and their warranty is the best in the industry. It is one sentence: you break it, we replace it.

That is all not six pages fine print crap. I have a friend that has used this warranty after his customer jumped his truck and broke a part. They didn't care, they just sent a new one and I believe he said they beefed up the new ones.

I bought this kit because it lowers everything properly. I looked into Fabtech but it is a glorified level kit and may be ok but with the amount of miles I put on in a year I don't want to be replacing worn out parts due to increased angles. No one could tell me on these new trucks how that kit would work out as everything is new. But I was told a proper lift kit like BDS would be better for me.

Damn. Do you know if there is a way to make it so that you can use the stock rims on that kit? I want a kit that I can use my stock 20s. I like the way that they look and don't feel like paying for another set of rims until these get too damaged to stand

I suggest calling them and asking. I have never had a lift kit before so I don't know what the options are. I just bought rims that were what they suggested.

You bet. I researched things for two months and got a lot of help from this site before buying my truck and lift kit. Like I said the guys at BDS were great on the phone when I called with questions.

How is the ride? I have an 08 wrangler with the 5.5" BDS lift and 40's so I can't compare that to this truck. I like the lift but don't want to mess up my smooth ride. I've heard BDS is one of the smoothest aftermarket lifts. Did you get the Fox 2.0 rear shocks?

I have a 6" fabtech on my 2014 but I was considering swapping out my rear shocks to the rancho 9000's do you think its worth it or are the fabtech shocks not bad?

Go with the Bilstein 5100's....best shock out there. Pro-comp makes one that's identical called the Pro-runner. Fabtechs are ok but far from the other 2 I mentioned.

    • I agree with Tim.  As tech heavy as engines are these days, no way I’d be an early buyer of the new 6.6.  Of course, I bought my ‘26 Denali w/the 6.2 after dumping my Tundra with it’s defective 3.5 liter imploding engine disaster, so I’m a little gun-shy.  That said, my 6.2 has been rock solid.  I don’t drive it like I do my BMW Z4 M40i, but I don’t baby it either.  I got a V8 for a reason.  But I’m averaging 18 around town and 22 highway.  I have seen 24 highway as well when I wasn’t loaded up heavy.  Considering my Tundra with the twin turbo V6 only got 14.5 in town and 17 on the road, I’ll take the 6.2 all day, every day.  If I were you, I’d grab a ‘26 while you can.  Inventories are probably gonna start dropping and I’ll bet the deals will start looking sweeter as well.
    • I am curious if anyone has figured out a way to add an hard button AUX or 360 Camera switch to the center row of switches. I have a 2021 AT4, and want to split the hill decent button and add a 360 camera button so that you don't have to go into the center display and locate the camera functionality, etc...   My father's 2024 Yukon XL AT4 and it has a hard button, see below. I found this thread on the Yukons, but it seems like there may not be a part number for the 2021 sierras. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/255339-adding-hard-button-for-camera-on-2021/ Anyone else figured this out. Seems like it would need to be a custom switch!   I am getting ready to install the auto stop/start eliminator, so would be nice to knock them out at once.     Upvote1Downvote0Go to comments
    • Looks like the entire state is burning. 😬
    • Through the years it hasn't been my typical method as I tried to drop oil on an engine that was hot from having been worked, however that was not always practical and had to fire up a unit and let it warm up reasonably well and drop the oil when I had the time to do it but am referring to not only vehicles but a variety of farm equipment and highway tractors etc. However on a vehicle where one is crawling under it and the exhaust is nearby to ones body and if wanting to pull the plug without danger of being hit with boiling hot oil or attempting to remove a HOT oil filter, its sure safer and easier to not have everything smoking hot and can remove the filter right away when under the vehicle and let it all drain. Of course its not the end of the world if a bit of oil stays in the engine that might have eventually found its way out, I like to get out as much as possible but any oil changes that take place in shops would rarely be sitting around for very long at all before the plug is thrown back in and filter slapped on and oil poured in and sent out the door quick like. There would be very little time spent ( assuming they even did it ) in starting the engine with oil to fill the filter, then waiting to verify the level on the stick. A good reason to check ones oil level shortly after a shop changed the oil on a vehicle just to make sure its correct and to look under for any oil around the drain plug or filter.
