2014+ Suspension Lifts

Recommended Posts

Alright gents, looking for some advice! Here is my ride and all the mods thus far:

2016 Silverado 1500 Z71 Doublecab

6.5 Zone Lift with Nitro shocks

20in Fuel Wheels wrapped in 35X12.5X20 Toyo R/T tires

Hypertech 2.0 Tune

Westin nerf bars

tinted windows

Front black bowtie

Shaved emblems

This is my daily driver and im on the highway 95% of my day. Looking for advice on additional mods keeping in mind my commute. Thanks!

I have similar upgrades. I put on the amp steps and got rid of nerf bars. Love that upgrade. Also, I put an aftermarket sub in my truck and I'm pretty happy with it.

I tow and I do take my truck to dirt, sand, snow and mountain terrain and off road the truck so I would like these future upgrades:

-Rigid Industries 30" midnight edition light bar behind grill

-Rigid Industries D2 fogs - midnight edition

-Re-gear from 3.42 to 4.56

Wish list:

Engine performance:

Supercharger (not likely to happen)

Exhaust

Stabilitrac is a wheel speed sensor. Has nothing to do with the lift, it is the tires. Based on the stock tire size the computer thinks there is wheel spin. You need to program for the new tire size.

Just quick update on my issue.

Bought a hypertech tuner to recalibrate my new tires and it fixed my issue.

Thanks to those who tried to help me out.

I've followed this forum for a while to determine what setup to go with. Here's what a came up with so far....

Thanks all for sharing! Helped tremendously

2015 GMC Sierra Crew SLT 4x4

Fuel Assault Wheels 18 x 9"

BFG TA KO2s 285x65x18

(Dropped from 20s to 18s to showcase the KO2s side tread)

3.5 Rough Country Lift

Model:27820

(I will admit, there is a very minor rub on the front when I cut all the way to one side or the other, but otherwise all is fine.)

Magnaflow Exhaust - Dualed

Looks great! How do you like that lift? How is the ride compared to stock? Why did you choose this lift? I've been looking hard at lifts and prefer a 3.5-4". This is one of my choices, but it seems like some people don't have many good things to say because of the angles etc. sorry for so many questions but trying to do my homework as best as possible also. Being I'm not much of a gear head, sadly I just went with what the local dealer preferred. My main concern was really around "how high" and if it would level out the truck. I like the height and there is definitely no rake. As for the ride, I didn't notice much of a difference. However, i did see a 3 MPG drop, so be prepared!

Can anyone with the zone 4.5" w/35s, Zone 6.5" w/35s and the McGaughys 7-9" @ 9" w/ 37s measure from the ground to the top side of the tailgate when in the open position for me. I'd appreciate it. Wanting to see what height I'll be at for loading deer, hogs, dogs etc into the bed. Those are the lifts I'm looking at getting.

Quick hypothetical and sorry if its been answered. I have been looking at the Fabtech and McGauphy's 4" Kit and the RC 3.5" Kit (I know people hate it). All 3 of these are essentially a spacer with diff drop and new control arms....

My question: Would it be legit to leave my bottom RC Spacer in and take out the top (sitting at 2" level up front). Add bilstein 5100 at the mid setting (1.25") for a total of 3.25" of lift up front. Add uni-ball UCAs with diff drop and have a legit 3.25" lift and actually have equal or better angles than my current 2.5" level? You could also set the Bilsteins at 1.8" to give you 3.8" of lift and that would still be within the 4" realm that McGauphy's is offering. Or does that just sound ghetto as hell? Makes sense in theory and honestly think it would ride better than just a 3.5" or 4" spacer kit, just wondering opinions...

I read on here that someone tried the 2" RC level with the Bilstiens and it rode like poo. Now I don't think they dropped the diff or added new control arms. Would it work, yes. Ride good/perform good? IDK and really can't say.

Maybe someone will try it. It's a lot of money and labor to just try on theory. Won't hurt to get all that stuff anyway. I could always throw the top spacer back on and leave the Bilsteins at stock length and the overall result would still be better for my ride/front end parts...Probably going to start buying piece by piece.

Man, I envy you guys. Out here we are not allowed to lift the trucks more than 3 inches and even then you find some dumb cop that will give you a ticket for that! The vehicle registration law here basically says you cant put any modifications on the car that require any form of hacking and welding. Even lowering the truck is grounds for an impound! Basically if it cant be returned to stock, you are screwed and your car will never get registered!
