With bypass valves on modern superchargers the parasitic loss is negligible. My truck when driven in a civilized manner(rarely) gets the same MPG as the stock 6.2. I do like the SLP as long as it keeps the factory 5 year 100,000 mile warranty. The numbers are impressive.

I wish I had money for any kind of forced induction. Too damn expensive, at least for an 11 year old truck. That's why my next truck will (hopefully) be a DMax

For all the guys who just want a d max for sound, torque, etc. Will the motor last or will we run into issues and have to drop crazy money into the motor? I always wanted a diesel but I hardly if ever tow. Could I buy a diesel and be sure it wouldn't brake down? Or will the city and short commutes blow the motor.

If you don't tow heavy, just short commutes a diesel isn't for you.

 

Mine has about 100k trouble free miles @ 45-60psi boost on stock rotating assembly!!! it's how you drive. I know a guy that bent a rod/melted a piston @ 600hp in 25k miles, but I know of many fellas running trucks that are capable of 700 that are pushing 200-250k miles. It's all in ur right foot :-D.

 

Hint - If you don't like spending money on vehicles than the diesel performance world isn't for you.
