Yes, as much as I love GM, ford does a great job one make niche trucks like the raptor and the tremor. GM need to up its game with the z71 and make it closer to the raptor in off road capability and also make a real SS truck. 6.2l with 4.10 gears, 2wd or awd and just make it available in diff body styles and keep it low on content with the ability to add options not stuck in a package system.

The Ram R/T is only RWD, so was the Lightning, and the Syclone/Typhoon, and the SRT-10

My point is that I'm not interested in the truck because it's RWD only.

Sorry for the confusion.

Per the press released linked in the very first post...this truck will be offered in BOTH 2WD and 4WD configurations.

Frankly this is what I am looking For. Up until now, only Dodge had the balls to offer a RCSB truck with decent options (Ram Sport and Ram R/T). Ford was a little better, GM was pathetic...a RCSB truck with very limited options (can't even get leather) and not the top engine. Hopefully the 2014s change that.

But as of right now, this F-150 is on my list to replace my Silverado. CNBC talked with people familiar with the program and they said it would cost between $23K and $27K. Hopefully that pans out.

Well, I kind of 'flew' over the article and missed the information.

Now it's a different story.

All the truck needs now is a crew cab and a V8 to make it from interesting to very interesting...

They don't exactly market it as a sport truck but that is exactly what it is. And you can get it with ex cabs and crew cabs. It might be 5.0-only though. No 6.2 aside from top trims.

you can run me down all you like but when I bought my truck I so wanted the Ford shorty 4x4 with the 3.5 ecoboost but it was not available, this may be my next truck.

If I didn't need a crew cab I'd probably order one myself... Truck is going to kick ass

Seriously though not a fan of the decals or the eco boost engine.

Eco boosts are pretty quick rigs, livernois tune and open up the exhaust and they will beat any other half ton.

Not to say you should buy one, my dad just picked up another half ton. The dealer even told him to stray away from the Eco-boost, too many issues still...the 5.0 is pretty peppy and has amazing fuel Eco.

Ford has the half ton department/ service package department on lock down. GM is really lagging behind with trucks, it's sad to see. Ill always be GMC loyal, but I hate to say it GM is really falling behind.

GM sells more half tons and 3/4 tons than Ford. Ford only sells more when you add sales of the F-350 through F-550s.

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
