Hah! Couldn't believe PCV hasen't come up. Search on the forum showed nothing.

The Haynes manual says replace at 60000 miles. I'm at 120K with no problems. Do these guys ever gum up on these trucks. Rock auto has a Fram FV410 part that they say fits my truck for a wopping $1.83.

I suppose they can plug up if you never change the oil and the oil starts to sludge up and stuff, Some of the PVC valves in the newer truck are kinda "glued" in there so be careful if your going to a-temp to take it out. I know in my 2011 4.3L V6 it's a fixed orifice and requires no maintenance, all I do is check the vacuum line and fittings for any issues.

The short soft line which attaches to the top of the valve cover was cracked on mine. I'm gonna pull the valve cover off to see if I have the Castech heads. I'll shoot it with carb cleaner when its off the truck.

The only thing I have done with PCV is install a catch can to collect the misted oil that gets drawn along with the crankcase gasses. So far, have collected roughly a shot glass full in 2000 miles.
