I had 305/55r20 with some stock wheels at +27 and they rubbed on the sway bar on both sides...I would recommend 295 or even 285's...I have 285/55r22 now and no rub on the sway bars...little in the liners now though lol. This is with Blistein 5100 on highest setting also on rims with at +12

Good post. Too many misleading posts of "no rub" with 295s and 305s when the tires are definitely hitting the swaybar and UCAs unless the offset is changed to around 0 or spacers are installed.

What is the average loss of these trucks with levels and say 33's or something close.

 

I actually have my truck lowered right now even though it's a z71 4x4. I have headers, intake, and tune and I see a constant 21-22mpg highway driving.

 

I'm thinking of putting a 2.5 on my truck and maybe some 33's on stock wheels. I just don't wanna kill my gas mileage. I drive 70 miles a day. BTW I have 3.42 gears and do pretty much all highway driving at 70mph.

I have a 2 inch level with 285 55 20 A/T's and see no loss on Hwy mpg, but about 1 mpg loss for city driving. Overall averaging 18.1 mpg over 10,800 miles so far. GMC SLT 4x4 z71 with 5.3 & 8 speed transmission.

I'm thinking of getting through RCX 2-1/2" kit for my 2016 Sierra 1500, can I fit 18x10 wheels with -24 offset with 305/65/18 tires?

I have RBP Glock (20x10) (305/55/20 Toyo AT2s on the way. Just waiting for them to drill them and send them out.

I'm thinking of getting through RCX 2-1/2" kit for my 2016 Sierra 1500, can I fit 18x10 wheels with -24 offset with 305/65/18 tires?

 

A lot of people are doing 20x10 (-24mm Offset) with 305/55/20 and rub on the liner and that is it.

 

I am doing 20x10 (-12mm Offset) with 305/55/20, I will let you know if rub and where at.

I felt like the front looked a little too high so I put a 2" block on the rear. Here is stock, leveled and 2" block added to the rear.

I like the way you lined up the pictures. (The changes in the trees are a wonderful visual!) Your truck looks very good! The difference between pictures 1 and 2 are noticeable but I am having trouble seeing the change between 2 and 3. I imagine the real advantage to the rear blocks will be significant when carrying a load because your truck will continue to look level rather than nose high. These pictures will serve as a great reference for those of us adding a leveling kit. What size was your front level?

Ok so have finally got my rubbing issue fixed. After installing 295/55r20 Toyo open contry AT tires had rubbing on the a frame, So I installed 20 x9 XD Rockstar II with 18 offset. The tires now rubbing on Sway bar. So when back and replaced tires with 285/55r20 BFG AT K02's and all is well in the world. NO rubbing!... Satyed with just front lifted with ready lift 2.25" level kit, stock rear blocks.... Ground to fender edge in front 38 3/4" rears at 39 1/2 so only have a 3/4" rake... Here are some pics.....

Looks good. You probably had rubbing issues because of the stamped arms. Do you notice much difference in look/size between 295/55 and 285/55? I'm gonna do a 2.5 level on +18s with 285/55 toyo at2 xtremes. I am considering 295/55 because I like the Nitto ridge grapplers but they don't come in 285/55 for some dumb reason

Thanks. You're correct regarding the difference when towing. I felt like the nose was up too high when I pull anything with some weight to it. I don't know that a 2" block versus the stock 1" block will matter much but, I can't hurt. I believe that the front is a 2" leveling kit. It is Rough Country.

 

I made a animated gif of the 3 images. That might make it easier to tell the differences.

OK so to the untrained eye not much difference in appearance. But for myself it still looks great but I can tell the difference. Besides the rubbing, going to the BFG from the Toyo open country extreme, not near the highway road noise with the BFG's. Also have better steering response and less tire sway. It might have been possible to stay in that 295/55 size, but would have to have multiple tire combination to see as every tire width spec are different. In the 295/55 r20 Toyo only made the extreme.... My friend at the Chevy dealer where I got both sets of tire is the best. He let me drive a week on the Toyo an then gave me full credit towards the BFG tire and even a little refund.....

    • Ahh, sorry about that - I got some bad info. Newdude is correct. That's what I get for working 13 hours straight ... on my "vacation", lol.   Should've checked the files I had instead of the internet.   Anyway ... this is GREAT news, since this would've been an absolute friggin nightmare to get working.   I don't think the lack of VVT is causing this - you've got another issue. Wiring, I'm betting.   I'm telling you right now, your computer isn't bad. If it worked before the swap, it's working now. You need to do some more (better) diagnostics and figure out exactly what you're missing. Did you test every wire directly at the MAF? Have 5V reference? Ground? If you're reading ZERO g/s, your Hz isn't much use - it's going to be the wrong value anyway. The MAF is not working, and you need to find out WHY.   I got this off the net, so VERIFY first: Pin A: Black (BLK) wire, Circuit 552, serves as the Sensor Return (Ground).  Pin B: Tan (TAN) wire, Circuit 472, carries the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) signal.  Pin C: Yellow (YEL) wire, Circuit 492, is the primary MAF Sensor Signal output to the PCM. Pin D: Pink (PNK) wire, Circuit 339 or 539, provides Ignition 1 Voltage (Power).  Pin E: Tan/Black wire, Circuit 552 or similar, often associated with the Intake Air Temperature ground or signal return.  Global-A list: https://postimg.cc/KKJnQC85    
    • Correct....the end user can't reach to Realtruck directly like they can if they purchase a Bak, Undercover, etc...  It has to go through a dealer.
    • It is 4wd. shop told me it is the slip yoke. But not sure.
    • No, I did not tune out vvt. From what I read it should still be able to run without it, it'll just lose some torque/power.    I can see how that would make it not run correctly, but why would that cause the faulty MAF readings?   EDIT: I just ran a quick test and checked, and as I expected, the computer sees that the VVT cam phaser solenoid is not present, and throws a code for it, and does not try to change the cam angle at all. Commanded position just remains at zero, 100% of the time. This makes me think that the VVT is most likely not the cause of the problem though if anyone has a different/better explanation, I'm all ears.   UPDATE: I was able to find that my scan tool does indeed support reading the frequency (hz) off of the MAF (I thought it wasn't supported but turns out I just didn't know where to look for it). I noticed that regardless of engine state it always however this Is not what I observed with my multimeter. Like I said before, the MAF seems to put out a normal signal during cranking and then the signal drops to a very erratic reading once the engine is running. It seems from what my scan tool is telling me that the ECM is not recognizing this at all, and just reads 0 Hz 100% of the time. This pushes me towards the the PCM itself is faulty. I I have the PCM out of the 2007 donor vehicle, which I may try to connect and program (it's only ~50 bucks to get the software for a one-time programming)
    • Did you tune out the VVT?  07-09 they did not have VVT.  2010-2013 they did.      If you haven't tuned it, its trying to adjust cam timing.
