SkiDooNick700 Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 I really need to get motivated on buying one! I'm at 700 miles now...
Jsdirt Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 I wouldn't be too concerned - I was at 74k or so when I first installed mine. Took me a while to discover the world of catch cans ...
Willie will Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 So I been looking on Amazon for a oil catch can and I see ones with filters on top and some with out. Which one is better? Or what's the filter on top for?
sugarjohnson Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I just installed my Elite CC and I am really impressed with the quality. I had a Rx and I prefer the Elite over that as far as build quality. Only downside is if you install in spare battery box area like I did they do not provide enough hose but that's cheap from the store.

We should be supplying 5.5' - 6' of SAE Goodyear Fuel Line hose with each kit. I thought that was enough, if not, please let us know and we'll update our kits.

I got some nice fuel hose from a local hardware store with the same ID but it actually had a thicker sidewall so I was not able to use the nice clamps you provide. Like I said I was really impressed with the quality of the can. I unfortunately broke my Rx can relocating it (actually the fittings stripped) and I decided to try another one. Glad I did....
Madcow2020 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Has anyone else had an issue after sea foaming the intake and valves. It seems to sputter when I first put it in Dave and then it acts normal. No engine light. It's been about 4 days since I sea foamed. 2014 6.2l crew cab Sent from the future via a wifi time portal.

My 6.2 kit came with plenty for the battery box mounting location, but my brothers 5.3 kit was short by a lot so he also had to buy a second hose to be able to mount in the battery box.
RobZ71LM7 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 My 5.3 Elite kit had enough hose to go from the battery tray to the engine. But there wasn't a lot left over.
Crf450r420 Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 GM engineer talking about the catch can he designed for the 2016 Camaro with LT1 to prevent pre ignition detonation in Hot Rod Mag. For the few still doubting the use of a catch can. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk 1
brwk Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Now since GM "believes" a need for a catch can, I wonder if they will make an accessory now for all DI models? Just like Harley.....they said that synthetic oil was the work of the devil and would void warranty's but when they developed their own brand of synthetic all was then magically ok.

For the few still doubting the use of a catch can. Interesting information. I did some searching for pics of the new Camaro 6.2 and noticed some hoses on top of the engine that are not on the Corvette or pickup 6.2 engines. Curious to know how if this catch can has to be drained or just dumps back into the oil sump.
gone_fishing Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Another 2016 Camaro 6.2 pic. Routing of hoses that come off valve cover and TB area seem to be a little different. Maybe they changed it for production?
Crf450r420 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Yeah they could have changed it you always have to wait until you see one. I'm curious if it's gotta drain back system like Spurs making Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
