I had a situation occur last Saturday and resolved it so I thought I would post it here in the tips and tricks in case someone else encounters a similar situation.

Wife and I went out to dinner last Saturday evening. Afterwards, when we were leaving, I put the key in the ignition but couldn't turn it. I tried the jiggle/wiggle the steering wheel but it was locked in place. Pulled the key out, put it back in and tried again. No go. So I was thinking WTF, a few miles from home, who else do I call besides the tow truck... Then I thought since we were in the truck, remote start it to at least get some heat in it. I started the truck and the steering wheel popped free. I put the key in and turned it. I was back in business. Have had no problem since.

I figured it was just a situation where the steering lock mechanism was under some pressure possibly due to the direction of the tires pointing when I shut it off.

Try the Chevy dealers. All the GMC dealers will telling me 7,500 miles for my Sierra. Found a chevy dealer that did it at 22% - 6,000 miles.

Intresting. My dealer says the way it works is your entitled to 4 oil changes in the 2 year period. If I wanna change the oil once a month, then he'll do it. Only the four times though.

It is 4 scheduled service events maximum in 2 years/24K miles, not necessarily 4 oil changes. At a 7.5K scheduled service interval, you really only in theory will get 3 oil changes unless you are running a severe service that the OLM picks up and degrades your oil quicker to get you to 4 oil changes.

Info that I got from the dealership was at 20% or less on the oil change monitor that they will change the oil. I am currently at 40% with 4200 miles so it will not be very long before I get back to see them. I did not know that there was a maximum of 4 changes in 2 yrs? That may well present a problem for me as I drive a lot of miles per year. I might do the first one at 20% (to clean out any build debris) then the next 3 maybe at the computers recommendation so I can maximise the interval to try to make 2 years. The 5.3 apparently holds over 8 quarts of oil so that is going to get expensive as I rack up the miles.

I have the 40/20/40 split seats with the 3 cup center arm rest. One thing I asked my salesman was if the rubber piece in the cup holder comes off. I could take the rubber piece out of my 09 and wash it in the sink when needed. Although it was a different design. Well I decided that I was going to find out if the new ones were removable. Here is what I found. There are 3 tabs that are molded into the rubber at the red circles. It will take a slight pull to get them lose but, they will come up. Once I got the piece out I cut the tabs off and the it fits back into the spot nicely. I am now able to take it out and wash it when needed. Also there are cuts at the bottom of the cup slots that will allow anything spilled to leak under the rubber piece. Not a good design I.M.O.

Thanks for this, I thought the same thing as you but was afraid to break something. I pulled it out and black rtv'd the slots on the back side of the rubber holder. I give it 1 week before I spill my coffee in the cup holders!

Swipe your finger to the left on your audio presets and more presets will appear.

Lock your doors manually, push down the driver's door lock knob and all doors will lock.

Anyone know how to change the buttons on the steering wheel that control the radio. It takes on click of the button to call up the station list and then a second to change it. I want to be able to hit the damn button once to change the station not call up the list and then change.

Also anyone know if there are other apps that can be downloaded for the touch screen?

Go to radio on the DIC and it will bring up your radio presets and you can control radio stations.

To all iphone owners out there, here is what I found today on a website I'm visiting regularly http://www.iphonehacks.com/2014/03/ios-7-1-maps-car-speakers-audio.html I have yet to check if works on my truck or not though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Works as advertised on my truck. Took a little time to find the option screen I was looking for. Anyone that is having trouble. First connect to the truck via bluetooth. You have to enter the maps app. Select a route. Then once you've started the route you will see a small speaker icon in the lower right corner. Click that and you will go into the navigation voice option menu. That is where you make your selection for the "allow HFP prompts." Hopefully that helps.
