Has anyone had issues with their USB port inside the center console (i have the bench seat) going in and out? Is it maybe just something loose in there or... IT goes in and out while driving kind of like when the truck shakes or anything from the road.

I ended up replacing the USB port in the center console in my 16.

Had all kinds of issues with the factory one, replaced it and no problems in the future.

When you buy something and bring it home you still have to somewhat put that purchase out in the open where it can be seen. It can't be hidden away where the spouse will never find it.

If in 48 hours they do not notice said purchase and say anything about it, you are in the clear. Because when they do say something about it you are able to say that "No honey I've had this thing for a while now".

Another one is for people who like four wheelers or snowmobiles. Every year or two just keep buying the same color and brand, they likely will never notice that if they never actually ride it.

Hahha I do that with my guitars. They hang on this wall in our office. There’s only room for 6 to hang and I “keep the 7th in a case.” When i buy a new one I put an old one in a case and hang the new one. And she just thinks it’s the other old one. [emoji23][emoji23]

I am looking to "upgrade" the front passenger seat from manual to a power seat, does anyone happen to know if the harness for the power seat is present at some point under the carpet or something to do this? or will I need to add a harness of some kind? I have a 2lt so the current seat is heated, leather. just not power like the drivers side.

Does look like the HMI module is failing.

Warranty work?

dealer has had it a couple days and they just called me and said they believe the issue was the alternator, they replaced it and the problem is gone, i will know for sure once I drive it bit, but just something to add to the collective information out there.

Good to know, wonder if this will be another addition to the electrical problems for others?

Did they happen to mention what the problem with the alternator was?

maybe, I just went and picked up and on the drive home I had no issue's, I plan on taking it for a trip up to the mountains to cut a xmas tree on Sunday so if it works well the whole trip I will call it probably good.

I have several aftermarket mods/accessories installed so GM wouldn't cough up for the 2hrs diagnostic time but they did cover the alternator.

Ooooh, why didn't I think of that, sounds pretty simple to fix?

Glad to hear your truck is good again, makes life a lot easier.

it never occurred to me that the alternator could be the problem, the battery stayed charged up and the voltmeter never really did anything unusual, I never saw it reading unusually high voltage or anything.

I think the battery, and the electrical system are set to be a perfect match for amount of power and functions.

In the old days, mods, stereos and lights, rule of thumb was a bigger battery, or alternator, but now I think the computers get fooled and put excess stress on components, basically burning them up from the inside.
