Wheel lights if I change wheels, maybe get 26x14 or suede headliner with the stars like this dude, it’s about 800$/1000$

might regear it but idk it really doesn’t feel bad like people say, not like I’m towing or racing my truck

Exhaust manifold gasket? I had to replace one of mine. It was prevalent when the engine was cold and often went away after being driven for a while. Sounded like a fluttering inside the truck.

Hey, thanks so much for the response! This was actually what I thought was the culprit as well but after further inspection I discovered my water pump is going bad. Going to be replacing that and the belt very soon, as well as the spark plugs while I'm at it. ?

Hooked up one of U-Hauls finest offerings (notice it is a Seattle trailer in the Seattle area), filled it with furniture, then drove 162 miles to our beach house.

Truck did great on I-5 and the very hilly 101, averaging 99 MPG at times?, overall ending around 21, not too shabby...

I'm sure that if that "21" was from the truck's computer, it was more likely to be 14-16MPG.  WA is got a trillion hills/mountains, I've been lucky enough to get 15MPG with mine, New Year's 18-19, with the same size U-Haul trailer, loaded with a couch, loveseat, 2 chairs, a queen size bed with head/foot boards, and my 100lb toolbox.

  Date            Traveled    Galons      MPG      $/GAL

    1/2/19 343.00        22.474     15.26      3.159
    12/28/18    190.00 12.301 15.45 3.199

I was lucky, last 2 weekends, to break 20MPG, no trailer, driving to/from San Diego (round trip each weekend), 4-5 adults, and 200lbs luggage and tools.  First weekend, 4 going down and 5 coming back, picked MIL up for Thanksgiving, and then took her home on Black Friday, so 5 down and 4 back.

I use the hell out of those particular Uhaul trailers, at least once every 2 months. I've priced out a utility trailer and considered the space it would occupy at home base, and for the low cost of the rental, I'll keep on renting!

I've used the hell out of them too.  Most often, I would drag an empty one to where I'm picking something up, load, and bring it home, or vice-verse.  $38/day-$76/2-day ("local") vs $121/2-day (one-way).

It's 30 something for a day rental with the insurance so you can walk away from it if something catastrophic happens and not be liable. At the rate I need a trailer, ~2 months apart, it would take me years and years to come out even on buying one.

Their mega length trailer tongue makes it 1 long wagon train to back up, but it reduces jack knife incidents so I understand the design. I jackknifed a single axle short utility trailer with my dad's truck when I was 15 and still haven't forgiven myself [emoji38] even now he'd say the thing scared him, it was on such a short tongue that everything would be fine until it wasn't.

Those illuminated bow ties look great on painted grills. I want to try it on my chrome grill but not sure how well it will turn out.

My money stats were including their insurance, I've seen some people not have U-Haul insurance and get "raped" by U-Haul.  One cost you don't seem to be calculating, repair/upkeep of a trailer.  Let U-Haul do that for their own trailers.   I tow aircraft for a living, so backing trailers is fairly easy for me.  We have a couple trailers that we use weekly, here at work, and everyone has me go put them away, they're too chicken to try and back them into their designated parking spaces.

I'm in my 30s now and I've had a lot of trailer experience since then. My house has a wall out front and the opening to the driveway is single car wide, and a long "corridor" that goes along the side of the house. I consider that the ultimate test of trailer backing considering the narrow width of the street. You gotta do a perfect 90 and cut the wheel just right to make it. The garage and carport is a good 30 feet beyond that.7bd8b2459ac9581c7c0ceb955d178166.jpg

Really don't think there would be that much of a discrepancy, but when I think back to my first car, a 73 Vega that I paid $100.00 for, I will even take the lower number you threw out.

It used more oil than gas, maybe averaged 8 MPG, and had suicide doors, not the Lincoln style, just flew open when you went around corners, hence the suicide part, and of course when it rained, you got a free shower. The AM radio picked up zero stations, and the heater worked in the summer, and not at all in the winter.

Thinking I like my 100 more each time I get to use it for "truck stuff", or just driving to work each day, Hell, might even ask to be buried in it at the ocean, just drive out on the beach and let mother nature take me home.

Should I even ask what you are hauling in the trailers?
