What have you done to your K2 today?

Wish I could see that at work. I want to vinyl wrap the chrome parts on the front of my AT grille. I want to get rid of all chrome on this truck. Absolutely hate chrome. Tempted to Line-X the factory running boards as well.

 

Got it in for the Premium Line-X liner right now, should be ready to pick up in about an hour.

So I snapped a few photos during the last two letters just to show how I did it.

 

These should be in order and a basic representation of the steps taken.

 

Cut vinyl square to fit letter:

 

Smooth vinyl onto letter while using a card or squeegee to push vinyl into seem between chrome outline and the letter itself:

 

Not pictured: use exacto knife or razor blade to cut vinyl making sure to stay as close to the chrome outline as possible. Take your time on this part!

Note: I kept my heat gun in the other hand and used it to warm the vinyl every few seconds as I cut. To me it seemed as if the vinyl cut smoother and I didn't have to push on the blade as much to cut through it.

 

Slowly pull trimmings away. I used the heat gut to keep the vinyl very plyable and this seemed to make it easier to pull up without pulling the vinyl that is laying over the letter itself.

That's what I got too. I love it. Good choice.

Thanks. I like it a lot, they did a great job with it. Made sure everything was taped off that needed it. Didn't have to tell them about the tie down covers, drain holes and bed lights.

I installed a whole bunch of extra tie down loops and mounted them to all the additional spots before I had the liner sprayed. Had them spray over all of them to add some additional support. They look great and did a great job

As soon as my SCA bumper arrives and i get it wrapped to color match it to my truck ill be installing everything at once and I will post some pictures. I already have the vinyl so it shouldn't take long to do.

The bumper was supposed to be here this week, but i received an email from SCA yesterday stating that the shipment was pushed because they are making another batch of them. It is now going to ship either Friday of this week or next Monday, depending on when the batch is completed. With that said, I should be installing everything next weekend. My fingers are crossed anyways haha

Since I bought the truck used, it has plenty of scratches and nicks so, I got the Porter Cable XP out this afternoon and spent a few hours on the passengers side of the truck. So far it is much better. Some of the scratches are not going to come out. Every little bit is helping though. Tomorrow I will finish the truck and take a few pics.

 

Also, since it is a used truck you never know what the previous owner did to the truck. I have been trying to quite some rattles. So far I have found loose screws on the knee bolster under the steering wheel. Missing trim screws on the passengers side door and a missing screw on the plastic pan under the passengers side dash. TIghten a few screws and add new screws and a little foam tape and it is getting very quite in the truck.

New to the forum, this being my first post. Just recently got line-x premium done and installed the bull ring bullet tie-downs. Best mods so far.
