2014 vs 2015 changes I've noticed with my loaner....

So, my 2014 GMC Sierra SLT is in the shop getting the radio replaced and the peek in update done. They gave me a 2015 GMC SLT to drive.

I have noticed several changes...

The radio: the 2015 doesn't have HD. Also, radio displays the name of the XM station when you make it a favorite (2014 just had the number of the station). I am hoping the updated radio I am receiving will have this feature. Also, the new 4g wifi. I don't use it, but it could be cool.

The seats: the 2015 seems to have softer seats (both this one and mine have leather).

different buttons: The 2015 has lights not he switches for the cargo lights and parking sensors (right on end of them, to let you know when they are on).

Cup holder insert: I have the bench with the folding center console. The rubber cup holder insert in mine is just flat black. In 2015, it now has a type of diamond pattern to it. Personally, i think the pattern would hold dirt and stains.

Sliding rear window: this one has it and it works!

My cargo bed light and parking switches have amber lights to let them know they are on. I had the radio update done and the XM stations are just the numbers, unless I manually change them to whatever I want. Would be nice if it was automatically done.

My buddy just bought a 15 Colorado and I noticed that in his. When he saves XM stations it saves as the station name. Not the station number like my Silverado. I have a feeling because it's the wifi maybe. Because I also noticed when I was showing home how the remote link app worked his worked a good bit faster than my Silverado

My black rubber seems to catch everything, and maybe even make up a bit itself.

I also have lighted buttons.

thats a nice upgrade. kinda bugs me that there isnt any notification when you have them turned on in the 14s.

im curious if they are giving you the 2015 radio or if its just a HD replacement. see if you can figure that out.

GM may have a service bulletin with a updated part number that matches the 15s, your invoice may just have a part number.

My '14 the XM does save it as the #, but you can rename them to whatever you want which I named them the station name.

The sliding rear window. My last truck had it and I liked it on hot humid days. But, once they started where you can only get them powered I didn't want one. I guess it's just another thing that could get stuck open or not close all the way and I can only assume that the motor would be even harder to get to than a window motor. That's a reason I love my LT is that it's just enough features to help you and make you comfortable while not being too much like the sensors on the bumpers and things like that. I also myself hate leather seats. Sure they're easier to clean if you spill where cloth would soak it up, but cloth last longer and holds up better. Plus if you decide on getting seat covers it makes more sense money wise to cover cloth than leather since you paid extra for leather.

My Silverado rental also had an off road screen on the DIC. Showed steering angle, tilt, 4wd status and some others.

How do you rename them? Menu option?

Settings > Radio > Manage Favorites, then touch the station you want to rename, then touch the "rename" button on the bottom middle of the screen. In the "manage favorites" section you can also reorder them however you want.

I have a light on my cargo switch, mines a 14

Mine too. Bright orange light at the end of the button. Same for my traction control button.

The cargo light buttons on the first few months of production did not have indicator lights on them. Mine was made in Sept 13 and it does not have it. I believe they changed it around Jan or Feb of this year to start having a light on the button itself.
