On my WT2(fleet) I have both the x1 and x2 harness. When I put the new AUX switches in, the X2 harness has nothing to plug into.

Still very confused to how this has to be done, don’t understand why my truck has a harness back there that’s not even being used.

Any help with my WT2 trim will be appreciated.

I’m looking to use all the aux for 3 led bars then a on board air system for 4th switch.

I assume your truck has a gas motor?

if so then the X2 plug doesn’t need to be used.

I’m guessing you got the upfitter switch with TC,Cargo, Aux 1-4?

does your X1 harness have any wires coming from pins 10-13?

Got the TC, Cargo, Aux 1, Aux 2, Aux 3, Aux 4

Pins 10-13 are occupied on the X1; All Blue/ Green wires.

The TC & Cargo wires stay where they are.

on the plug for the X2 connector you would cut the wire for pin number 4 to run to your air horn relay. You don’t necessarily have to cut the wire from #4 meaning you can just strip back some of the insulation and attach another wire to it. This wire (X2 #4) is the signal wire from the CNG switch. This plug that is there at the X2 connector is not doing anything in your application. It should have 6 wires in it and they aren’t doing anything so yo can use them (at least the one going to X2 #4) without worry.

The link I provided is for a wire with a terminated lead meaning it’s a wire about 1.5 feet long with the terminal needed for the X1 connector factory crimped on the end of it. (Pigtails) (order 4 of them)

you can open up your X1 plug and insert these wires directly into cavities 10,11,12,13 and then close the plug back up. Your X1 plug will then plug back in to the X1 opening with 4 new wires coming out (from Aux 1-4). These are your constant on/off negative signals from Aux 1-4.

Ok, this is good! Pins 10-13 are already wired so you’re in luck. These wires go to the X61A junction block behind your brake pedal on the firewall. They plug into the X61A-X5 connector (on the lower right) and come out the (X61A-X1 connector (firewall side behind X5) from there they go up to the under hood fuse box (X51A).

@WesternMike

can you snap a picture of your underhood fuse box, specifically where Upfitter relays 1-4 would plug in. (#60,61,62,65) I want to see if the pins are present for the relays. ( if it’s just a blank cavity or if there’s a metal pin inside to contact a relay)

Sorry, just read you only have TC, Cargo, Aux1-4

On the same page now

The OEM wire routing would go from the S48A (switch panel) to the X61A, X4connector(Junction box behind brake pedal) then out of the X61A, X1 connector, and into the X50A, X3 & X4 connectors (under hood fuse box) your accessory power or output from the relays will come out of the X50A (fused) and back into the X61A, X1 connector and out of the X61A, X7 connector.

These pictures show the routing in and out of the X61A junction block behind the brake pedal.

Please note: in Gm Upfitter there is a discrepancy between 2015 and 2016 model years pertaining to where the wires from the S48A (switch) land at the X61A (junction box). They land in either Connector (X4 or X5). Simply verify by checking the location and color of neighboring wires to be sure you’re on the right connector.

This may be due to a type-o or different wiring on different model years. .......still sorting that out.

Here are the part numbers for the terminals for the S48A switch panel connectors X1 & X2. This will save some cash.?

With all these part numbers, which is the one for the x1 harness (the bigger one attached to the switches)?

Hello Everyone,

New to the site, I just sold my 08 and picked up a 2018 GMC 2500HD SLT, Diesel, 4WD.  I'm wanting to also add some lights up front.  I currently have 5 switches (Pedals / TC / Cargo Lamp / Park Assist / Exhaust Brake.

I should be able to add 2 aux switches, My Pedal Switch is a up/down switch and I believe all the others are on/off?  Could I just buy the 22838756 switch set and swap my current covers?

I have a 2018 Silverado 2500HD WT

I had from the factory the T/C and cargo lights only

I purchased the one with  T/C, Cargo, CNG, Aux1, Aux2, Aux3, Aux4.

The CNG button since is a momentary i will use for the "Ocean Liner" Horn and the Aux I will use for LED bar and Fog lights

I have an X2 connector with 5 wires but the factory cavity on the module did not have any terminals.

Now the new module has 5 terminals. What is the connector for?20180912_185832.thumb.jpg.9c2825b12087fcbd5ba092bb4689fb2a.jpg

    • I agree.   However, the owner's manual, suggests that a drop over full is just as bad as a drop under. (Read black and white letters only, insert no common sense.)
    • That P0700 and loss of power suggests something significant is amiss to me.   More/other codes may suggest otherwise; I would investigate those prior to spending the money to change fluid on a transmission with a bad torque converter.    The relatively sudden escalation of symptoms to me suggests that something began failing (initial shuddering experienced) and rapidly deteriorated (slipping/loss of power). Fluid condition alone wouldn't cause the sudden escalation of problems - though it might have been the cause of the deterioration up to the point of failure.
    • Stabilitrack operation is in a sense a separate/independent operation from the operation of 'traction control'. Stabilitrack is used to keep the vehicle traveling in the DIRECTION intended, it can brake independent wheels and or adjust throttle to influence the direction the vehicle is moving.   This can be illustrated by a 'fish-tailing' example. At high speeds, if the stabilitrack detects excessive yaw (the vehicle spinning like a top, it has a sensor for this), based on inputs from steering angle it determines that the vehicle is spinning out of control, and begins working to control that unintended spin. By reducing throttle input or braking specific wheels to control or prevent the spin.   The traction control works similarly using the ABS system to slow spinning wheels and thus transfer power to 'other' wheels. The goal being to achieve wheel speeds that are all in agreement with each other, the truck then assumes that since all the wheels speeds are the same no spinning is occurring. For example, launching up a wet boat ramp, there is no excessive yaw present, traction control alone can manage the wheel spin by braking spinning wheels and cutting throttle.   Stabilitrack and traction control from a hardware and software standpoint are basically one in the same, I don't remember specifically in 2004, but you couldn't get a truck with one and not the other. The switch on the dash, could turn off the traction control, but not necessarily the stabilitrack.    A confusing comment about stabilitrack vs. traction control, the same components serve both operations, but marketing could advertise them as two separate features.    The AWD system is another separate system entirely, in addition to the other two, it uses the same wheel speed inputs but can also vary the transfer case clutch application to direct some power to the front axle, working in conjunction with the traction control to bring wheel speeds together.   The power split will never be greater than 50:50, the same as 4-high. It will never direct MORE power to the front axle than the rear.
    • Not based on the new photos I'm seeing.  Car and Driver posted additional photos that shows an auto stop start button left of the steering wheel.
    • Car and Driver is reporting wireless CarPlay WILL remain, and they posted several additional photos, including a left knee shot, but the only hard buttons there are e-brake, auto start stop, tailgate and cargo light.  Also definitely looks like High Country and ZR2 get micro fiber on the center of the console lid and the ZR2 possibly also on the seats.
