iPhone Text Issues

I had a 2015 GMC and my phone when linked with bluetooth would ding when i recieved a text and i was able to play it from the steering wheel. I recently bought a 2017 which has car play and i dont get the notice i recieved a text anymore. is this correct or should i still get the ding and on the screen it will say play and i can play from my steering wheel?

 

on iphone? if so make sure you go to bluetooth on your phone, click the little "i" next to GMC intellilink and make sure send notifications is on. then it should work

I had an issue on my '15 Silverado with handsfree texting not working either. In the end, the issue was I had Siri disabled on my iPhone. I enabled it, and voila! I was able to use the handsfree texting.

I have a 2016 GMC and the text messages take up to 60 seconds to come though on the radio from when my android phone beeps. I thought this was normal until I rented a 2016 Dodge Pick-up. They come through instantly so there must be something wrong with my GMC

Mine come through right away on my '15 Silverado. Phone beeps; shows up on my DIC to read or decline.
