I learned that same lesson when I was was 24. No worries...

And what lesson is that?

Sure I can barely pay for it now, but it's brand new so I don't have to worry about anything going wrong. But, I start a new job next month that pays a good amount more so I'll have no problem paying for my truck now. My bad for not being able to buy a $50K truck. I plan on keeping my '14 for as long as I can so it's a long term thing. I don't go buy a new truck every 2-3 years like some do.

That's awesome! I'm glad you are that lucky..

If I couldn't afford it when I got it then I wouldn't have gotten it. I'm just saying that the payment was right at the limit of what I could do and still have a little left over. So it's not like I took on too big of a payment than I could handle. But, glad you know so much about me. Oh ya forgot about the multiple periods...................

No, I'm one of the few that doesn't bitch and moan on the forums all day.

My truck drives more than fine. There are also plenty of threads on here describing the "vibrations" but guess what? I don't have any of those either.

Just because a few people are having problems, doesn't mean everyone is. Go back to the 'issues/troubleshooting' sub-forum, no one here wants to read your negativity.

That's why you're spewing "good luck with your transmission" comments, right? Not negative at all... Give it a rest.

Again, I must agree 100%. No clunks, no vibes, no seat issues, no wind noise, no MyLink problems, no fuel economy issues, no negativity.

I find people now a days need something to complain about 24/7, they are never happy.

I'm learning, slowly but surely, to let go of what you can't control and enjoy life for what it is.

I am always happy to get into my truck and drive it, with a nice smooth transmission.

Well also hate to break it to you, but when I compared the prices a Crew cab with the short bed was $5K more. Plus all of the Crews they had were short bed and I got to have at least the 6' standard bed. I admit that at the time I barely could afford the truck I have now, but it was exactly what I wanted and I didn't need a Crew cab. I didn't put any money down or have a trade-in. I also went there looking for a used Chevy, but all they had was an F-150 so I started to look at the new Chevys. When I bought it the engine in my '98 blew and after having the trans rebuilt not to far before that I just got tire of it and wanted a new truck. I also couldn't spend a month going everywhere since it was my only transportation and I'd rather just buy a new/newer truck than pay for a rental while I'm looking for a truck. Then after the insurance raising and all ya I got a truck exactly how I liked from the lot. Only thing I don't like is that it has 3.08 gears but I can change that in the future. But hey, I've been told basically that I'm an idiot so don't pay me any mind.

I have noticed that if you negotiate well or can wait for rebates, the extra you would pay for an equally equipped crew cab is minimal. All of the big rebates are on crew cab short bed 4x4s with all star package because the dealers order those more than any other configuration. The $12k+ off msrp deals all seem to be on the cc sb.

Like I said, I'm picky and I got to have at least the 6' standard bed. I have a toolbox and need a full width box. I can barely fit everything in there now as it is. If I dropped down to the short bed then the box I'd have to get would be too small rather it was narrower or had the bottom rear corners shaved off to allow for the wheel wells. So talking about that I need a standard bed. I even have a regular height box, not a low pro since a low pro wouldn't be high enough either. At the time like I said, I didn't see any Crew cab standard bed trucks, they were all crew cab short beds. I guess crew cab standard bed trucks were a little scarce at the time or that dealer just didn't have any. Plus I did talk them down more than the rebates since the '15s weren't out yet and wasn't even talk about when they would be. Even after loan interest and all I still pay a good amount under sticker. When it comes down to it, Double cab is all I need. I barely use the back seat for people. I think a person has only rode in the back seat maybe 3 times ever since getting it last year and they didn't complain about room.

I hear you loud and clear.

I went with the ext cab because I don't need a crew cab but like to have the additional room over a reg cab.

My mistake was that I didn't realize that the suicide door are a little unpractical when it comes to open the driver door far enough so I can open the rear door.

But GM changed the design and next time I buy a truck it'll again be a ext/double cab.

And you have to report to nobody but your self what you can or want to afford.

Just for the sake of it. On Saturday I turned my best buddy salesman down on a '15 Sierra 6.2L CC SB.

When he asked me if it was because of the payments I answered: "No. It's about what I'm willing to spent on a truck." .

It's not always about what someone can afford.

Sometimes the suicide door on my '98 helped, but not for people. It seemed to only help if you're putting stuff back there, especially helping somebody move. I do like that they did away with suicide doors. The doors open more than crew cabs did in previous gens, at least it seems like it. So actual doors aren't in the way as much for stuff as crew cabs used to be.

No worries, Habs. If you were stuck with a poorly performing transmission, then I'm sure you'd be a bit frustrated like me and the 36 pages of other guys. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/169997-transmission-fix-finally-for-14-15-sierra-silverado-woooot/page-36

I'm typically a make it happen kind of guy that doesn't complain and make excuses, but this truck is really testing me, if you catch my drift...

Was just going to say the same thing. The recall for air bags would not seem to be a big deal in terms of resale(once fixed or updated), but the buy back should send shock waves for new on lot sales.

Well if you read further, 60% of these trucks have already been fixed and it only pertains to Chrysler Trucks/Suv's made from 2008-2012. At least FCA is doing the right thing by offering a buy-back. Dont think really it will impact new sales.
