Loaded trucks hold their value. They're highly desirable. Buy a 2 year old loaded LTZ for the same price as a brand new LT1 or LT2.

Only to a shopper who cares a lot more about leather seats than me.

Had a 2014 LT2 Z71 with All Star pack last year, have a 2015 SLE with GMCs version of the All Star pack this year.

Wouldn't buy a used LTZ with 30-40K of wear and tear on it for $10K less than those trucks, let alone the same price. Just nothing there that warrants that sort of sacrifice.

I'll leave sniffing someone else's farts and finding their kid's nose gold under the back seat to other buyers. :nonod:

EDIT:

Should note I don't care what trim level people buy, but NO WAY would the difference in the LTZ pack get me to buy a used one over a new LT All Star. I put on over 20K a year and get a new truck every three at the longest, if I started out at 40K that puts me at 100K miles in 3 years. Can't remember the last time I owned a car that long.

Agreed. I don't like smelling other people's farts either.

Not everybody wants a fully loaded truck though. My Z71 LT All-Star convenience package has everything I would want and doesn't have anything I wouldn't want or care to have. It's basically a fully loaded LT without the LT Plus package and no sunroof since it's a Double Cab (only Crews are available with sunroof and a sunroof is either or for me, but just 1 more thing to leak just like the rear sliding window). I don't even like leather seats. The only thing I don't like is the 3.08 gears, but that can and will be changed in the future. I would rather buy another brand new LT like mine instead of a used LTZ. But, some people want everything under the sun on a pickup, but for me I don't care for "luxury" when it comes to vehicles like heated/cooled leather seats, especially when it comes to trucks.

I agree about the more loaded vehicles being worth more. When I bought my '15 SLT this year I traded in my '09 fully loaded Avalanche and got 24k as trade and then the dealership sold that same Avalanche a week later for just over 30k. That has to tell you something about value.

It makes sense that you get more for higher trim lines on trade in, you pay more for them up front as well.

Not like when you take an LTZ in they say,"SIR, please come back to the executive waiting area and leave these common riff raff alone. We will give you $5.00 less than you paid for your truck two years ago because it's an LTZ."

Seems there's a few people in here who aren't happy with their LTs. Lmao.

I have had issues w/ my 14 GM trucks (yup 2) just totaled the 2nd one that was a vibrating SOB, and. $52,000 one at that- funny same as the OP of this thread I am finding myself lured to Dodge now, because I've always been a GM fanboy making fun of dodges that they are "cheap" and "fall apart" yet these new gmc trucks are the biggest overpriced hunks of sh*t ever- I wish I cross-shopped harder because I found dodge actually makes the exact truck I wanted and just didn't realize it- a no-nonsense factory lifted HD- the power wagon.

I LOVE that the 2500 RAM power wagon comes stock w/ locking front/rear diffs, MANUAL shifted 4wd w/ true low range, an electronically deactiving front sway bar for more articulation, 2" factory lift w/ 33" BF Goodrich at2's and bilstein shocks (yes the same crap everyone on this forum buys to look the part while simultaneously voiding the suspension part of their warranty), real metal skid plates, a proper column shifter rather than the stupid dial in the ram 1/2 tons, wifi hot spot, a front power winch, rear diff cooler, oh yeah....and a 6.4 hemi!!

Did I mention it comes w/ all that and is still cheaper fully loaded than a Denali 1/2 ton?

I still love my '03 Z06, but GM just don't make 'em like they used to- if you haven't noticed the vettes are blowing up engines, and the much heralded 650hp Z06 can't actually tear up a track w/on overheating yet (maybe should've worked that out before bringing it to market) oh.....and despite being 12 years old and antiquated my lowly I C5z is still faster in every regard than the brand new stingray Z51 (not to mention a '98 WS6 firebird is still faster than a '15 Camaro SS)

Sad sad sad for GM

The RAM power wagon is a beast of a truck and hopefully it treats you better than your GM's did. Still happy with mine, no major problems except for crappy stock tires.

Well may just be me but I think Dodge trucks are plain and ugly. I don't think I've ever seen a dodge that just caught my eye like GM trucks always have. Ford also have always been a very ugly vehicle but they have come along way in the last couple of years.

Yeah, and when it came down to it my plan was to get rid of the crappy rancho shocks upgrade to bilstein leveling shocks, add extra 1" block to rear to keep rake, get 275/60/20 AT tires to get another 1.5" or so and look more aggressive, get it tuned for more power/better shifting, hope all those things would make me forget the nagging issues....of course that costs money, and could effectively void warranty (although I was past the full BTB anyhow) - so @ the end of the day it'll probably work out for the best that it was totaled and I can get into a RAM that is essentially how I envisioned "THE truck" I wanted to begin w/

Didn't you trade the first 2014 due to buying the 3:08 gearing? Sorry you totalled the 2nd one & hope everyone is alright.

You are comparing apples to oranges with your C5 Z06 vs C7 Stingray. http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c5-z06-discussion/3292456-c5-zo6-vs-c7-coupe-competitive-stock-yes-or-no.html

Same with the WS6 & I love those cars. The old WS6's twisted the chassis & snapped rear ends on a regular basis(if taken to the track).

They were also 500 lbs or so lighter than the forced to fit on the zeta platform Gen 5 Camaro. Heck with your comparison range, why not compare

a ZL1 vs that old WS6. Again, I like both. But the comparison made to fit the rant doesn't work.

The C5Z is actually faster than a C7 stingray...I think that thread kinda points that out, and remember back when the C5Z was released it was running craptastic goodyear eagle F1 supercar tires, I can ASSURE you the modern day Nitto NT01's I run produce different results ;-)

C5Z fastest stock times (down to the paper filter & those yesteryear tires) are in the 11.7 to 11.9 range @ 116-119 mph in the 1/4, and ran sub 8 minutes on the same sh*t tires round the 'ring (and that's also before they started doing rolling starts that they use nowadays which shaves precious seconds making previous comparisons flawed) google "Ranger C5Z" - he's just a normal dude who loves vettes and happens to be able to rip ridiculous times in stock vehicles very consistently...same guy has done 10.x in a stock C6Z. I personally have done 12.1 @ 120 in my tuned/CAI/short throw equipped C5Z on the NT01's

New C7 stingray has a pretty interior though

I'm fine truck is not, thanks for asking!

Comparing a 2500 to a 1500 is moronic. Two COMPLETELY different trucks.

I liked the current gen Rams when they first came out. They were sharp looking trucks, but now they all look the same. They haven't been redesigned for 6 years now. A 2009 base model, and a 2015 fully loaded model look almost identical.. even though one is 6 years newer and $45k more.

*At least where I live*, Rams plague the streets. They are just like Civics now, they no longer stand out. And I know why: They are cheap, so people buy them as they are affordable.

I consider Rams to be the Kias of the truck world.
