Just joined the group today but I have been reading many posts over the past few weeks on what everyone has done to spruce up the look on their 2014+ sierra and still keep the factory ride and stay as close as possible to the factory MPG.

I picked up my Quicksilver Sierra SLT 2 weeks ago from the dealership and knew I had to get a leveling kit on it asap. The Sierra I purchased came with stock 18's but I was able to do a wheel swap for some stock 20's off a 2016 Denali that was on the lot. I did a lot of reading on other posts and decided to go with the RC 2 inch level so I would still have some rake in the back. I also was going to swap the tires for a larger 10 ply size (due to my vehicle seeing a lot of gravel everyday) but I didn't know what to go for.

After a bunch of research, I came to the conclusion that the Hankook Dynapro ATM's in 285/55/20 was my best option for appearance, durability, MPG, and the biggest factor, PRICE. I just picked it up from the shop today and I thought I'd post a pic for everyone. I haven't seen anyone running this setup on the forum so this may be helpful to some of you guys.

So overall I added 2 inches in suspension height and a little more than a 1/2 inch in tire height and width. (New tires are 32.4 inches x 11.7 inches). No rub at all and definitely could fit a larger tire, but this is the look I was going for.

I will do updates on MPG before and after as well. Ran two tanks of fuel through it stock with mixed conditions 20% gravel, 40% stop and go and 40% highway with an average of 18.0. Some of this in auto 4x4 due to bad weather. So far the ride seems just a hair stiffer but I am also looking for it to be as well. Time will tell.

Sorry in advance for the poor pic I currently have, it's almost dark and I am just pretty excited about showing it off. I will get some better ones added this weekend with it cleaned up and from different angles.

How's the 8-speed drive compared to your '15?

It's kinda goofy as first but not in a bad way. I'm getting use to it, but it's definitely different. It doesn't seem to get lost between 1 and 3 like the 6 speed did at times. I think with time I will like it more, but definitely has more pep from a stand still take off.

Here's some more pics from today. Roads are nasty, but I'll get some clean ones up as soon as the weather clears. Also should put some miles on her this weekend so we'll see how she does MPG wise.

Alright for a little MPG update...

Ran two more tanks of fuel through the truck with the 2 inch level and tires. Before the lift I average 18.0, after the lift I averaged 17.1. This is with the same mixed driving conditions, 20% gravel, 20% in town, and 40% highway. I reset my trip on the HWY going 63 mph and averaged 20.5 mpg for that 50 mile trip. Overall where I'm losing the MPG's is most definitely in town. No difference at all in MPG's on the HWY.

Now with the Hankooks on the truck I feel more firmly planted to the road compared to the wranglers. The ride is a hair stiffer like I stated before, but its hardly even noticeable. Girlfriends '15 sierra ccsb SLT z71 with same level lift and stock tires rides identical to mine. However, her MPG stayed the same after the lift with stock tires.

Also, I am running the tires at what the tire shop set them at which is 48-50 psi. Is this too high? What are other people running their 10 ply's at?

Also anyone have a quicksilver or white-diamond Sierra with the wheel well moldings painted to match? We are thinking about getting both truck's moldings painted... Also how does the painted to match moldings hold up on gravel? Pics would be appreciated

I finally measured my wheel well heights and this is what I got

FR- 38.75"

FL-38.75"

RR- 39.5"

RL-39.5"

So 3/4 of an inch rake.

I hauled my S4 825i JD Gator with a tandem axel 18' trailer and I was just a hair nose high. I'm really happy with how it rides when pulling and the trailer brake system works really well. Kind of neat having it on a 1500 truck.

Here's a pic of it hooked up.
