Little annoying things about your truck

It bugs me that at less than 3000 miles, I am going to have to take a second trip to the dealership. The 1st time was for a wet passenger floor after 2 weeks of ownership. Now i am dealing with a rear passenger door that won't open from the inside. This has been going on for most of the time that I have had the truck, but i never really thought much of it since my toddler is on that side I have to let him out anyway. It's a little more annoying when there is an adult that can't let themself out. All other doors are ok ( not the child lock button). I'm not trying to take apart the door panel on a new truck to mess with cables or linkage. I think the dealership needs to throw in a gm borla exhaust to make things

right.

:rollin: Seriously? That is what a warranty is, owe you a borla exhaust come on. I have taken mine to the dealer once for a few items and am going back for a second, what do they owe me???

Just a word of advice to a new truck owner, reading all of the complaints in the forum will have you looking for monsters that just don't exist for most people. Get some miles on the truck and let the computer "learn" how you drive.

I wish to add that when you start a discussion on finding the negatives on any person, place or thing, people will come up with a contribution! This thread is entertaining but don't let it take away from how much you enjoy your truck. Anytime I have a problem with a vehicle, I get it repaired, or find a solution. This forum has many great threads highlighting (or how to enhance) the many great features of your truck.

Auto position seat starts moving into set memory position as soon as the unlocked drivers door is opened. Have to push a seat memory button to get it to stop. Once you are in and seated, you have to push and hold your memory button to get the seat the rest of the way into position. Most vehicles with memory seating move into position when the key is turned in the ignition. Please correct me if I am wrong. I need to read the manual again just to be sure I'm doing this right.

A little late with this response but I thought the exact same thing on my 2016. However the owners manual does a pretty good job of describing how to make this work properly (look in section 3-7 & 3-8 of your manual). The seats are actually linked to the transmitters (RKE) and if you have it set in your rationalization menu the seats will auto adjust when started. the transmitters are not numbered so you may have to try both.

good luck

Hi ChevyKev,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing concerns with your rear passenger door. I understand how this can be frustrating. I see you are looking to contact your dealership. If you need any additional assistance or have any other questions, I am happy to help.

Wow. Are you serious? The owing an exhaust to make things right comment was a joke. No shit i am not owed a $1000+ exhaust system just because of one minor issue with a door not opening properly . The thread asked what were little annoying things right? I listed a couple, then made a dumb joke, like many others do on here. I even used one of those stupid little emoji things at the end hoping that some lame ass would not take the exhaust comment as a serious demand/ request. Didn't work apparently. Maybe when you take your truck back to the dealership they'll owe you a sense of humor. Next time i'll use # just kidding

The 6L80e in my truck would make a better boat anchor.

2016 Denali:

  • About once a week, the stupid a$$ infotainment system re-indexes my USB media, even though I have not removed it or made any changes to it. That means that I need to wait 15 minutes sometimes before I can pick the album I want. It happens at random times.
  • The rolling-to-stop, low-speed transmission clunk. Seems to happen more as time goes on.
  • HVAC icons on screen do not always match what is actually going on
  • My auto high beams have NEVER come on. No at any speed or in any amount of darkness. Not sure if they are broken, don't exist, or what.

Otherwise, I generally love the truck. I wish I would have waited a month or two to order so that I got some rebates, but oh well.

This is MUCH more than a "little annoying issue", but thought I'd post it here anyway in case anyone is experiencing the same problem.

Took my 2015 Chevy Silverado in to my GM dealer because the Timeshift radio wasn't working. GM Dealer gave me bulletin "PIC6110B: Timeshift Audio Playback Choppy Distorted."

Says "Customers may comment that intermittently Timeshift audio is choppy, distorted, skipping, or garbled.

"RECOMMENDATIONS: Please do not replace any parts or make any repairs."

"Please communicate to the customer that this condition is a normal operating characteristic of their vehicle."

What a bunch of bunk! GM can't / won't fix it! They ADVERTISE they high end, expensive features and then they don't work. I paid handsomely for the feature that comes with Navigation, bigger screen & etc. Very upset.

Effects: 2015 Buick Lacross, Regal, 2015 Cadillac ATC, CTS, EL, EScalade models, SRX XTS, 2014 Silverado, 2015 Silverado, Colorado, Corvette, Impala , Suburban, Tahoe, 2014 GMC Sierra 1500, 2015 GMC Sierra, and 2015, GMC Canyon, Yukon Models.

Here is a great video that shows GM's TimeShift feature....Although they are having major issues with it.

Is this normal? I just got my brand new 2016 on Monday and mine has the idle issue like it's wanting to stall, but hit the gas and runs perfect.

2016 LT, 5.3, mine has a very rough idle too,, pull up to a stop sign and it shakes, Dealer says that is normal, not buying it. I only have about 2500 miles so far, Also,, fuel gauge seems to be off, as far as I know, I have a 26 gallon tank,, low fuel light came on this morning, only took 18.5 gallons.

    • I agree, simplicity and reliability matter more as vehicles get more complicated. A V8 work truck option with fewer electronic features and a stronger warranty would definitely appeal to a lot of buyers who use their trucks for real work. Customizing it with trusted outfitters is often the best way to get exactly what you need.webcrimsNY
    • I’ve heard similar complaints from newer vehicles where the factory “premium” systems don’t always live up to expectations. A good installer should be able to improve the sound without turning it into a bass-heavy setup. I’d look into upgrading the front speakers, adding a quality DSP amplifier, and possibly improving sound deadening first—those changes usually make a much bigger difference than just adding a subwoofer. Hopefully someone local can recommend a reputable installer in the Las Vegas/St. George area.
    • Do you remember that Harley Davidson was more successful (solvent) when it produced about 60% of the market demand (by design) and forced wait times of up to three years? Even when your turn came around it was, "Take what we are giving you or move to the back of the line and start over". HUGE markup's were 'normalized' and dealer killed. 40% markup and no floor plan? What's not to love? Greed will kill them yet. They have surplus production and customer base is tanking. And still they think nosebleed pricing will work.
    • The engine was done as part of the 6.2 recall?   You'd have to see if your VIN also has the 6.2 engine special coverage on it.  Coverage number is N252494003.  If you have this, your engine is covered under this and NOT the GM replacement part engine warranty which is 3yr/100k from the date of install.  The 3yr/100k mi warranty is in effect for non warranty purchases.     This is not any different if it was replaced under warranty without a recall or special coverage.  So if you had a 5.3 and it popped at 3 years in at 50,000mi during the 5yr/60k powertrain, the replacement engine would not get the 3yr/100k, and instead gets the remainder of the 5yr/60k as coverage.     So N252494003 gives 10 years or 150,000mi of coverage, which ever comes first, starting at the vehicle in service date.  So if your in service date is 01/01/2022, N252494003 gives you special coverage of the engine until 01/01/2032 or 150,000mi, whichever comes first.  So if your start date was 01/01/2022, you'd have left 5 years and 4 months (lets round to august 1st), or 62,000mi left of coverage.   So you need to know your in service date to know how much coverage is left.
    • Okiee dokie there bud, way to take things to the extreme.   I guess you missed the whole point and take things way to serious. I installed different EV6 style injectors that just so happen to be larger in my car running the same LQ4 engine and with a better spray pattern than the stock style injectors and I noticed no difference in the idle quality. Kinda was my round about way of saying that even if you put the same size but better style injectors in your truck, you will likely see the same thing.    I'm sure you're great to have conversations with in person if that's how you act through a keyboard. One little things sets you off and now I guess my dick is all up in your face.
