The fact that my 6.2 can and will not do a burnout for more than 2 seconds... and no I'm not trying to do burnouts left and right... just want to do a nice burnout and take pics.

I agree completely! It has the power it just get's smacked down by the Super Nanny Ninja Traction Control.

All in all, I love my truck. It's my favorite truck I've ever owned. I do have 2 little annoying things though.

My 2 issues are:
1. The little plastic area on the dash, where the windshield and dash meets, rattles sometimes on rougher roads. I could probably fix it but, I don't think about it when I'm not driving and I can't fix it when I'm driving. Also, I don't want to take it to the dealership and have them tear my dash up.

2. My truck is a GMC Sierra so I don't know if this is an issue for the Silverados or not. When it has rained or if there is any standing moisture/water on the hood, water constantly gets sprayed up onto my windshield while I'm driving. It continues until all of the water is gone. I sort of feel like it might be related to the hood shape and/or fake hood scoop on the front of the truck.

Is your truck leveled or do you keep it waxed? Reason I ask is mine is not leveled and I have not had a chance to wax it since I got it. The only time I have the problem you are describing is the few times it rained right after I bought the truck and it was really clean enough for the water to bead up and stay on the hood. Now since it runs off during the rain I have not had the problem in a while. Maybe its because I have not leveled mine.

Both. It's leveled and recently waxed.

Same here, I had rain beads on my hood this morning from the rain last night before I pulled into my garage... perfectly sunny out and I am using my wipers :driving:

All in all I love the truck. Wish it had rain sensing wipers, my '07 has them and they are amazing. I found I can easily live without them though. I don't like how fragile the paint is on my '16 but I guess when you care more about the environmental impact than making a quality product that will happen.

Sometimes when I hit the lane change feature the signal blinks once and other times three times. Maybe it is me.

Jim

It's you - maybe you are not pressing down hard enough. It should spring back up then blink 3 times unless you have the Tow/Haul button pressed in then it will blink 6 times.

Every so often when I turn on the radio it goes to the audio/settings screen rather than the screen it was last on. Anoying to always have to hit the button to put the previous screen back up.

I'm really loving my truck, I do have a couple of things that annoy me:

What's the need for 2 antennas?

The old fashion key and fob isn't the greatest.

Randomly my radio will come up with the warning screen and I have to press OK. Not every start just like maybe once a week.

Sometimes Apple CarPlay doesn't let Siri work through the radio and I hear her talking to me through my phone.

Wish it had more options on the DIC (like not to have the volume show up there and the radio stations not scroll on there)

These are minor, the key probably bothers me the most.

saw that many people had wanted to do wireless charging so i decided to make a video to share on how i did mine. hope this will help someone out on their project. it was not very hard to do and only cost about $19 it works very well and you need almost no tools. you dont even have to cut any wires no no void of warranty.

Wireless Charging Part 1

Wireless Charging Part 2

i saw people on the forum doing the homelink add on so it inpired me to do a video on how i did it. i paid $9 for the part and it was easy. to do. hope that this can help someone in here with their project.

Since I had the GM Borla exhaust installed on my 2016 Sierra 6.2 8spd a few weeks back I have had a brand new annoyance. At slow speeds (below 50 mph0 when the truck kicks into V4 mode the exhaust note changes to a helicopter like sound. Hate it, so I ordered a Hypertech Max Energy 2.0 part 2000 and now have AFM set so it does not come on except 50mph and above so "FIXED IT" haha too bad GM did not have enough confidence in drivers to allow them to adjust certain parameters of their vehicle without having to go aftermarket.

    • Have considered installing a DC to DC charger in your camper to replace your isolator?
    • Common failure.  You need to replace the fuel door housing.   The painted cover transfers over to the new housing.  To remove the old one there is 4 spots where you poke the plastic to release it.
    • No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.
    • Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.
    • I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?
