options and reasons for a gun

Haven't posted in a while on this topic so here's a "reason" for owning a firearm again.............

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed".

For anybody who doesn't fully understand the meaning, I'll state my interpretation, hopefully others share a similar understanding :

Well Regulated Militia = American citizen, specifically adult male.

Keep And Bear Arms = They are mine, and no, you can't have them, ever. Yes, I am armed, yes, they are loaded!

Shall Not Be Infringed = No politician/govt. official will dictate what, or how many I can own (this has been severely under attack by liberals for years and needs to be fixed!)

Contrary to what the anti-firearms people want others to believe, there is nothing complicated about the 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Our 2nd Amendment is the most clear, and simply written amendment in the Constitution. It blows my mind how people can argue against it and somehow make it out to be something negative.

Anybody who thinks a person should not be able to defend his or her life, and the lives of their family is seriously confused.

This doesnt mean you can conceal carry though. They cannot say you cant have a gun (unless you're a felon) and they cant tell you how many you can have as well. What they CAN do is each state can say if you can conceal carry or not. If you think the 2A is your right to carry, then youre an ignorant moron and deserve the legal action taken against you.

What they CAN do is each state can say if you can conceal carry or not. If you think the 2A is your right to carry, then youre an ignorant moron and deserve the legal action taken against you.

I'm hoping to see some sort of nationwide reciprocity that will allow carry in all states. If every state will honor my drivers license, something that isn't constitutionally protected, why not gun rights? Or they can just push the left coast into the ocean.

I'm hoping to see some sort of nationwide reciprocity that will allow carry in all states. If every state will honor my drivers license, something that isn't constitutionally protected, why not gun rights? Or they can just push the left coast into the ocean.

The 2nd amendment does only apply for your home. It allows you to own guns. Many people do not understand that it DOESN'T allow you to legally conceal. Ive seen idiots with shirts like "the 2A is my right to carry". They're idiots and if they are concealing without the proper permit, they're breaking the law. Ignorance is not an excuse when it comes to carrying. Its your responsibility to research the laws.

The 2nd amendment does only apply for your home. It allows you to own guns. Many people do not understand that it DOESN'T allow you to legally conceal. Ive seen idiots with shirts like "the 2A is my right to carry". They're idiots and if they are concealing without the proper permit, they're breaking the law. Ignorance is not an excuse when it comes to carrying. Its your responsibility to research the laws.

Thats the law man. 2A allows people to buy and own guns. No where in the 2A does it say to conceal. Thats up to each additional state. Trust me, cops will arrest you and your firearm privileges can be revoked for being ignorant (carrying without the permit because you think the 2A is your permit). I have my own state CHL and my UTAH one. It still only allows 32 states though. The 2A doesnt allow me to legally conceal in California. Its up to the states for conceal carry.

Obviously I follow the laws, even if I think they're BS. New Hampshire just became the 14th state I think to go constitutional carry. The moonbat states will never go but I hope the trend continues.

Thats great to know. I honestly thought you were trying to be one of those ignorant idiots who conceal because they think its their 2A right. Glad there was clarity. I also hope constitutional carry goes national.

With the politically correct culture around us and how people feel "offended" at just about anything, free speech has almost become something that applies only at home.

While CCW may be required in many areas or not allowed, open carry is allowed in several states with no permit required and not restricted to home. Of course, open carry would invite a myriad of problems, but it is allowed nonetheless in many areas. And open carry is probably more in line with the intention of the founders when they put the 2A in the Bill of Rights.

Oregon is an open carry State. There are some rules though. You cant carry open in the city of Portland unless you actually have a CHL. Personally I think (and many agree with me) if you open carry anywhere, you're an idiot and asking for trouble. Don't be that guy who thinks that open carry is a deterrent.

One of the best reasons I have ever found for owning a firearm, is that they are just plain fun to shoot! I don't get all wrapped up in the defense thing, CCW thing, or any other of the political issues. I just like to shoot! I have a 100 yd shooting area set up just behind my house. For sport, I like sitting on my deck and picking off ground squirrels when the stick their little brown heads up out on my south lawn. My only problem is that I never have as much free time as I would like to participate in shooting activities.

And truth be told, no matter if one has a CC permit and packs, if you don't actually put in a lot of practice, it may not be as effective of a solution as one would hope. And killing targets is a great stress reliever and makes one proficient!

The Constitution of the United States as well as the first 10 amendments known as the the bill of rights does not tell the government what they can do, it states specifically what they may not.
