Premature tire wear

I have a 2015 Sierra 4x4 with Bridgestone tires, truck only has 16k miles and the tires are just about done, is there a manufacturer warranty? Checking Bridgestone web site, it says those tires have a 60k warranty, do I take it to a dealer, or go to a tire store?, this is a lease, no way I'm going to make it through this coming winter... The dealer has rotated them once during my first 3 oil changes

Thats probably your issue, your dealer only rotated the tires once in 16K miles. Go back to your servicing dealer and inquire about replacement tires under warranty, most likely they'll be prorated. If they give you issues, point out they did the servicing so if the tires weren't rotated as required that's on them.

something not right,I have them on my 15 Sierra with 9500 miles they look great. With only 16,000 miles and almost gone, must be a manufacturing defect. I got over 60,000 on my last set. Go back to your dealer, don't know how they could ever say that's normal. Unless you been burning the shizzz out of them.lol

Ya it has to be from not rotating enough. You're supposed to rotate them everytime you change the oil. When I took my truck in for the 2 year maintenance warranty I always made sure to say oil change and tire rotation under the maintenance warranty. Some service writers would mention the tire rotation if you don't but some won't. So it's hard to say if they will change them under warranty since rotating them is part of vehicle care which can void the warranty on that certain thing. They will most likely say you should have just looked in the manual and made sure to tell them to do what should be done. I guess in other words it's the owner's responsibility to know what needs to be done, not the dealer.

I agree and disagree with you, even rotating them only 1 time they should not be almost gone. My 06 Silverado had them and they where not wearing right, after 3rd time to dealer they told me there was a tsb on some bridge stone tires. Little over 11,000 miles they put on 4 new ones. And they last 60,000. But diff rotate them every oil change.

Ya but the thing is that you can't know for sure if it was the tires or not caring for them unless you know you rotated when you should and kept a check on the tire pressures. Only being rotated once in 16,000 miles makes it very hard to say it was the tires themselves so you can't say for sure that the tires were bad. I'm not saying they're bad or good tires, just that only rotating them once in 16,000 miles makes it so you can't really know for sure either way.

I think it would more depend on how even the wear pattern is. If it is near equal, rotating the tires didn't affect it much. If it is obviously worn on the one edge, you could blame not rotating the tires. But your alignment shouldn't be so far off to bugger a set of tires on a new truck after 16K. Factory tires are the s*#ts for the most part.

They are all wearing evenly, and no burnouts, I was hoping to find others with the same issue, I will inquire at the dealer about it, thanks

16,000 isn't that high for one tire rotation. The first one could have been done at 8,000 and the second one due now. Certainly if you are following the oil life monitor it could take you to at least 8,000 miles between oil changes and if you rotate at every oil change than he may be right in schedule. Regardless, the tires shouldn't be done at 16k, even if they were never rotated.

There is no website for OEM tires. OEM tires are not what you buy in store. They are manufactures specifically for the OEM.

What type of driving do you do? What type of surfaces, any gravel?

As stated above, rotating them once in 16k miles isn't that bad, it isn't great, but not that bad. Per Bridgestone's website, they recommend rotating every 5,000 miles, so the OP missed one, big whoop. Lack of rotating is NOT the problem for this type of rapid wear. Something else is going on.

What Size?

My GMC has 22" Bridgestone tires, with 10k miles and they still look great.

The oil change and tire rotation was done about 500 miles ago and the fronts are 5/32" and the rears are 6/32", which makes sense with the rotation that was done.

If rotation was the issue you'd have uneven wear, especially front to rear, so that isn't it if they are all worn evenly.

It will be interesting to hear what the dealer says.

Not everyones 16k miles is the same. Highway or city driving only? My 14 only has 12,000 miles on It and the tires have been rotated three times and look like hell. And I am always watching the pressures. And I mean always because I leave the DIC info on tire psi a lot because anything over 35/37 and this thing rides like a Costco shopping cart with one square wheel.
