Remote start settings not working

I have tried a few of the settings for "Turn on cooled seats on remote start", "turn on heated seats on remote start" and "auto fold mirrors" but none of them seem to be recognized and actually work.

 

Is there something special you have to do to get the settings to go into effect or is this a dealer question?

you probably already know this, but heated/cooled seats only come on when the temperature is at a certain level. ? temp turns on the heat, ? temp turns on the cooled feature as they are part of the auto hvac system. the power folding mirrors requires to you to hold the lock/unlock button on your key fob for at least 2 seconds or more for the mirrors to open or close. hope this helps, if not maybe replace the battery in the fob.

Since it was in settings on lock/unlock I thought it would be automatic. I did know about the key fob way.

 

I can turn heat/cool on right away when I start the car even if they aren't functioning optimally, they don't turn on at all with remote start even with the setting set so they should. I do think this is just not working unless there is a special point I have yet to observe.

When the heated or cooled seats come on with remote start the lights on the buttons do NOT come on so are you sure the seats are not working?

SK, that is true about the button lights. if I remember right everything that was working with the remote start on my 08 came on. the easiest way to tell with the 14-16 is to listen for the "fan" on the back of the seats if the cooled function is on. the other part that makes no sense with the 14-16 is the seats turn off when you turn the ignition on, so you have to start them on again.

The 2016 pickups do NOT have cooled seats.

 

They are heated and ventilated. The good news is the noisy vents in the seatbacks are also gone.

I'm sorry if I missed this but on my '15 I have the heated seats and have enabled the heated seats on remote start but I'm not certain it's working.

 

Should the lights come on at the controls or will I only feel the heat?

No lights come on with remote start till you turn the key. Once you crank the truck you have to push the seat warmer button and turn them back on. They come on with remote start if selected but will cut off when the truck is cranked.

Power folding mirrors are NOT related to your memory seats. The mirrors ARE memory by themselves and require a separate function to return to where you last set them.
