2016 silverado 1500 bad wheel bearing

Just wanted people to be aware. 4000 miles on my new silverado 1500 and heard a clicking noise when making tight left turns. And ive never been one to crank the wheel all the way to the lock btw. Brought it in and apparently it has bad wheel bearing. Replacing under warranty. Get it back tomorrow so i hope its fixed. They did get me a loaner but sucks not having my truck since saturday. I know it was over the weekend but 4 days without it is to much for me. Just sad a $50k-4k mile truck has parts going bad already. Hopefully its not a sign of things to come.

You didn't spend enough. The $55k trucks have upgraded wheel bearings that never fail...

I guess thanks for joining just to make us aware of a random rogue part failure that never happens :dunno:

Please let us know when your next warranty claim is for maybe a radio knob sticking or cracked seat adjuster.

To make the failure rate close to zero the car/truck would probably have to cost 4-5 times more.

When things go bad they tend to fail sooner rather than later, unless its just a bad design - those problems will manifest later down the road. So always something t look forward to :)

I'm a glass half full kinda guy, if you look at all the parts in a modern car or truck, and it only takes a 25 cent clip or electrical connector to stop the whole thing from working its amazing most even make it off the transporter truck.

It doesn't matter if it was $1 or 1 million. There's always going to be a blem part here and there. We receive in DOA stuff all the time. It just happens.

I have a 2018 with 50,000 miles on it and wheel bearing is junk. Warranty will not replace it and I paid for the extended. 50 thousand dollar truck have to spend 550 for a wheel bearing is just not right.

Any reason why it would not be covered?

A lot of bearings are considered powertrain. I would try another dealership or find one on Amazon and do it yourself. They're not too difficult to replace on the newer trucks.
